The Southend Branch of Medivet was purchased in March 1999 from Mr David Harper MRCVS who has since retired from practice. Plentiful free parking is available to the rear and side of the practice. Medivet Southend is managed by partner Gareth Richardson, ably assisted by veterinary surgeon Carolin Kunze. A team of nurses and trainee nurses (headed by head nurse Maria Anderson) and receptionists (headed by Lisa Pethurst) assist the vets in providing are to our patients and service to our clients.
The branch is staffed 24 hours-a-day thereby providing a round-the-clock service for hospitalised inpatients and for new cases, both routine and emergency. Medivet Southend is spacious, recently refurbished to a high standard and is equipped to deal with most cases received at Southend. It also acts as a referral centre for other local Medivet branches and provides after hours service to a number of local independent practices in the Southend area. Southend branch can offer on-site advanced imaging techniques such as abdominal and cardiac ultrasonography, flexible and rigid endoscopy and arthroscopy. Southend branch also offers advanced orthopaedic and soft tissue surgical procedures with Gareth Richardson being an RCVS certficate holder in small animal surgery.
As with other Medivet branches, Southend is linked to all other Medivet branches via computerised ADSL connections, a new technology allowing permanent high-speed links between all branches thereby allowing records to be accessed by other branches of Medivet at all times. Medivet is dedicated to making use of the latest and most modern computer hardware, software and communications in providing excellence in record-keeping and transfer of clinical information within the Group. The branch also offers a range of Hills' Science Plan premium diets and a variety of pet products as well as advice on many issues such as pet insurance, pet nutrition, weight control, dental care, flea control and much more. Southend operates an appointment system - please call (except for emergencies which are seen as a priority). As with all our branches, appointments are intended as a rough guide. In the interests of our patients, we may wish to give additional time to individual consultations. This may result in brief delays but all our clients will benefit from this by their pet receiving our fullest attention to their requirements. The staff at Southend aim to deliver the highest standards of veterinary care backed up by a personal and caring attitude dedicated to providing service of the highest standard in a sympathetic, friendly and reassuring manner. |
