Catarina MendesCatarina Cardoso Ferreira Mendes – Veterinary Surgeon

In December 2013, I graduated as a veterinary surgeon from the Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro in Portugal. Before joining Medivet, I worked for a year and a half at a practice in Portugal.  I’m particularly interested in internal medicine, behaviour and isotherapy. I have three pets back in Portugal – one dog and two cats – and have recently adopted a cat named Scone. In my spare time, I like to swim, visit new places and enjoy photography. Being a vet is more than just a job to me! A sentence that always inspires me is: “some people talk to animals, not many listen though” by A.A. Milne. I am at my best when I listen to my patients.

About our practice

There have been lots of positive changes to help us create an environment in which you and your pet can feel comfortable and welcome. We have become part of a large network of supporting practices, giving us access to high quality equipment, facilities and specialists in multiple disciplines of veterinary medicine and surgery. This means we can offer most treatments without having to send your pet to someone outside of Medivet, ensuring continuity of care from our dedicated team every step of the way.

To allow us to give both you and your pet all the attention you need, the clinic is run on an appointment basis; however emergencies will be seen as a priority. To arrange an appointment please call us in advance and we can book you in at the best available time for you.

You are always welcome to come in for an informal chat, introduce us to your pets or purchase any food and toys we have on offer.

Because good pet care isn’t just about providing the best treatment available, we also stock a wide range of Hills Vet Essential and Prescription diets in order to give your companions the best nutrition. These diets can help with many medical conditions so feel free to ask in practice for any information on them.
