The staff at Leigh-on-Sea aim to deliver the highest standards of professional care backed up by a friendly, personal and sympathetic manner.
The practice is well equipped to deal with a wide variety of cases, including emergencies. Where intensive hospitalisation is required, we can transfer patients via our veterinary ambulance to Medivet Southend where there is specialised equipment and 24-hour continuous care. This means that we are able to provide our patients with the full array of care provided by the Medivet group and, in most cases, patients can be treated by the same vet from start to finish. Your pet's clinical notes can be accessed from all of our Medivet practices, so if you need to see the vet in an emergency, all relevant information is available on demand.
Free parking is available with a carpark to the side of the practice.
We look forward to welcoming you and your pet to our practice.

Emma Norris - Head Veterinary Surgeon
I have worked at Medivet since graduating from the Royal Veterinary College in 2013. I became the Head Veterinary Surgeon here at Leigh-on-Sea in October 2014. I have really enjoyed getting to know all of our clients and their pets here over the last few months. I love it when some of our dogs come in for a cuddle and a biscuit! The team here at Leigh-on-Sea are extremely friendly and caring. You are always welcome to come in to say hello and ask us about our training for the Tough Mudder, which we are all participating in this coming September! In my free time I enjoy running and have recently completed a charity 10km run. I’m also a keen badminton player. I look forward to meeting you and your pets in practice.
We run a 15-minute appointment system. We are experienced in identifying which cases may take longer, and will always try to book appointments accordingly. We want you and your pet to feel relaxed and for you to have plenty of time to ask any questions you may have. If you or your pet has any specific requirements (for example, they need to be the only dog in the building) just let us know.
Our “first vaccine” appointments tend to take 30 minutes. We know that bringing home a new pet can be daunting, and there can be a lot to discuss beforehand. We also offer free “new pet health checks” to any newly rehomed pet of any age. Senior cats and dogs can have a free urine test with their vaccine to monitor signs of kidney disease or diabetes. By doing this, we are diagnosing and treating diseases earlier than before, leading to longer, healthier lives for our patients.
We also offer free nurse clinics by appointment. The nurse can provide advice on diet, training and preventative medicine amongst a host of other things. Please feel free to pop into the practice or call us for more information.
