Guy Carter - Senior Partner & Head Veterinary Surgeon
I was the first branch partner to join Medivet in 1993, becoming a Senior Partner soon after. At the time, Medivet had 7 clinics and I have watched it grow into the largest partnership in the UK with over 100 clinics, overseeing the development of the Watford branch from a satellite clinic into a 24-hour centre. I am very fortunate to have been joined by Candice and Raquel as partners in the Watford branch, and we have a dedicated team that I am extremely proud of. I have a special interest in rabbits and enjoy treating both my Watford cases as well as the many referrals I receive.
I am married with two children and two dogs - Dixie, a Border Terrier, and Wallis, a Rhodesian Ridgeback. In my spare time I enjoy hiking, skiing and reading. One of my most memorable experiences was standing on top of Mount Kilimanjaro in February 2010.
Candice Summers - Branch Partner & Head Veterinary Surgeon
I graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2007 and have since then gained my RCVS Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice in Medicine. I am one of the lead Veterinary Surgeons at Medivet Watford 24hr Hospital caring for many of our inpatients. I have a special interest in looking after our many pets with chronic diseases such as Diabetes, Kidney and Thyroid Disease. As part of our Clinical Committee, I am dedicated to help develop care guidelines and maintain best standards of care for all the pets we see. I have recently adopted a stray little black cat now called Sebastian who I look forward to giving a hug to every day after work!
Raquel Amils - Branch Partner & Head Veterinary Surgeon
I graduated in Bellaterra in 2000. I worked in several jobs over the years, even owning my own practice for 5 years. After working as a vet around several countries, I decided to come to the UK and join Medivet in November 2010. I have a 10 year old dog called "Jara".
The branch is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year providing round-the-clock service for hospitalised inpatients and all new cases, both routine and emergency. Medivet Watford has benefited from extensive investment over the past few years and has recently been fully refurbished. It also acts as a referral centre for other local Medivet branches and provides after hours service to a number of independent practices in the Watford area.
