The Eynsham branch combines the warmth of a small rural practice with all the benefits of being part of a larger group.
We have a relaxed hospital environment with often only 1 or 2 inpatients, meaning your pet will have all the personal care they need during their stay. When the weather is nice, our canine patients can also enjoy the enclosed back garden to rest and recuperate.
Nobody likes going to hospital, but our nurses always ensure that each patient is made to feel as safe and happy as possible- be it a cat tent for privacy, games & fuss to stay entertained, or extra thick blankets for our older visitors to rest comfortably.

I graduated in 2010 and spent my first few months in mixed practice in South Wales. I have a keen interest in many fields, including internal medicine and orthopaedics, and hope to specialise in one of these one day.
The branch is open weekdays 8:30am-7pm, and Saturdays 2pm-4:30pm, with after-hours support being provided by the Woodstock hospital. The practice is well equipped to deal with most cases including emergencies. In cases where intensive hospitalization is required, patients can be transferred by veterinary ambulance to Woodstock, where there is specialized equipment and a vet and nurse in attendance 24/7. In this way Eynsham is able to provide its patients with the full array of care provided by Medivet, and in most cases patients can be treated by the same vet from start to finish. Your pet's clinical notes can be accessed from Woodstock, so that if you need to see the vet out of hours in an emergency, all relevant information is available.
Eynsham runs on a 15-minute appointment system. We are experienced in knowing which cases may take longer, and will always try to book appointments accordingly. We want you and your pet to feel relaxed, and for you to have plenty of time to ask any questions you may have. If you or your pet have any specific requirements e.g. the need to be the only dog in the building, just let us know.
Our “first vaccine” appointments tend to take 30 minutes, because we know that bringing home a new pet can be daunting, and there can be a lot to discuss. We also offer free “new pet health checks” to any newly rehomed pet of any age. All dogs, cats and rabbits under a year old can have 4 weeks free insurance from Petplan, starting on the day of the visit. Senior dogs and cats can have a free urine test with their vaccine, to monitor for signs of kidney disease or diabetes. By doing this, we are diagnosing and treating diseases earlier than before, leading to longer, healthier lives for our patients. We also offer free nurse clinics by appointment. The nurse can provide advice on diet, training and preventative medicine amongst a host of other things.
Wheelchair access is available via a portable ramp, a doorbell outside is at wheelchair height, or if you phone ahead we can place it for you. If you have specific concerns about accessibility please call to discuss. Free parking is available with 4 parking spaces at the front of the practice, as well as plentiful free street parking.
