Opening Hours

Open 24 hours, 365 days a year

We’re here for you 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We have internal round-the-clock care at our 24-hour practice.

Open

Symptom Checker

If you’re not sure whether your pet needs to see a vet, our quick and easy Symptom Checker can help. Answer a few simple questions about the signs of illness your pet is displaying and the checker will advise whether a trip to the vet is necessary and how urgently that specialist care should be given.

  • Your vet in Alder

As Liverpool's only dedicated 24-hour veterinary hospital, we provide expert, friendly care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Benefit from our well-equipped, modern facilities and wide range of services, including minor and advanced surgery, dentistry, and same-day lab results.

  • Cat-friendly facilities

At Medivet, we understand that cats have unique needs and natures, which can often make visits to the vet very stressful both for cats and owners. That's why we provide separate cat waiting areas and operating theatres, to ensure you and your cat's visits are stress-free.

  • Keyhole and Endoscopic Surgery

Our practice is equipped with a full video endoscopy system to enable us to perform cutting-edge keyhole surgery. Our surgeons have a depth of experience using this advanced equipment for minimally invasive surgeries.

I was prepared to take our dog out of hours. The lady listened and reassured me to wait till our vet opened. Her diagnosis was right and our dog is fine after seeing our own vet. Thank you so much.

Cara was amazing and even brought her own dog in to give my cat transfusion. I am so thankful for everything that the team did for my little Marie during her stay. Although we lost her she was always in the best hands. I will be forever grateful for the compassion and commitment which was shown over the last week.

Vet Cara and the team were absolutely amazing looking after my dog when he had to be seen as an emergency. I couldn't believe how quickly they were able to treat him and get him back safe to me! Especially as it was the out of hours service and all the extra complications due to coronavirus restrictions. Thankyou so so much! You're amazing! xxx

We rushed Goofy, my french bulldog boy, with unknown diagnose , after a full day in another clinic ,and i didnt expect for him to be that sick. He was diagnosed with Leptospirosis, was in danger to die, but the great vets from here and nurses really did more than the best and saved his life. Amazing staff, i wouldnt take my boy anywhere else. He is home now , safe, still under treatment, but he is active, he is eating,he is playing.. I want to thank you all the staff from there. Amazing team!

We rushed my dog over with suspected poisoning, unfortunately it turned out to be a large mass that had spread. None of us had expected this but I’m glad we took him here. They looked after him so well, helped us in every way possible and did everything they could for our gorgeous boy. He couldn’t have been in better hands. We were unsure whether we’d be able to be with him as he was put to sleep because of the current situation but they were great, allowed me and my mum to be with him for as long as we needed to say goodbye. They sorted out his paw print and other things for us and gave us a lovely card. I’ll be forever thankful for how they took care of my beautiful boy.

When our Labrador Retriever started feeling poorly we called the Vets. Fudge has been healthy his whole life. He has always had a strict diet, with treats of course, but when he turned away from even being hand fed, we knew he needed to go to see them. We waited for our appointment and took him down. He went in and had a scan and check up, and the lovely vet brought him back out with the sad news that at 13 years old, it would be kinder to put him to sleep. His bounce was gone, but he still showed what he was made of. Snuggled with the kids in the car park while they said their good byes. Then with such compassion, the vets took him and stopped his suffering. They were supportive throughout and I can’t thank them enough. Thank you to our vets for being there. As key workers during lockdown, we are grateful that you were there. Again, thanks.

We've been coming here with our pets for many years and wouldn't go anywhere else. The care provided is outstanding, nothing is ever too much trouble. We can't thank you enough, even during lockdown due to Coronavirus you continue to provide a wonderful service. Thank you for the delivery of medication today for our two cats Gnipper and Caramel. We really appreciate it, not sure if they will though 🤔😆

Sadly my beautiful Persian Cat Hattie passed away at Alder Vets today. They had worked so hard and with such care and empathy all week to try and save her. I wasn't able to get to her in time to be with her when she crossed over 🌈 Bridge but spent some time with her not long after. Thank you so much for everything xx
