Symptom Checker

If you’re not sure whether your pet needs to see a vet, our quick and easy Symptom Checker can help. Answer a few simple questions about the signs of illness your pet is displaying and the checker will advise whether a trip to the vet is necessary and how urgently that specialist care should be given.

  • Your vet in Alder

As Liverpool's only dedicated 24-hour veterinary hospital, we provide expert, friendly care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Benefit from our well-equipped, modern facilities and wide range of services, including minor and advanced surgery, dentistry, and same-day lab results.

  • Cat-friendly facilities

At Medivet, we understand that cats have unique needs and natures, which can often make visits to the vet very stressful both for cats and owners. That's why we provide separate cat waiting areas and operating theatres, to ensure you and your cat's visits are stress-free.

  • Keyhole and Endoscopic Surgery

Our practice is equipped with a full video endoscopy system to enable us to perform cutting-edge keyhole surgery. Our surgeons have a depth of experience using this advanced equipment for minimally invasive surgeries.

Today we sadly had to lay our cat to rest. I have had a few experiences with vets but can honestly say this is the best by far, I can not reccomend Medivet enough. The male vet who seen to our cat was so thoughtful and gave us all options and time needed. Thank you so much

Alder vets fitted us in on the same day even though we were a new customer. Other vets would not see us due to covid-19

We would like to thank the staff that helped us on Sunday 7th feb when we had to say goodbye to our beloved chihuahua Lola. The staff where all so helpful and lovely, in particular the girl who met us at the door and dealt with the paw print and hair keepsakes for us and the Vet , both showed such compassion and patience with us whilst dealing with all of the covid restrictions. Thankyou so much you made an unbearable situation as best as it could be for us. We now have Lola’s ashes back with us, thank you ???? Julie & Natalie

Have been attending the Alder Vet service (now Medivet) for mor than 20 years with our previous 2 cats (Penny & Mitzi),now no longer with us, and our present 2 cats (Phoebe & Daisy) and have been looked after by Mr Potts (Jeff). Our cats could not have been looked after any better. The service and attention we are given is second to none. Many thanks to all the staff. Regards John J Flynn

Very nice and professional and responsive on every occasion when I telephoned to see how my cat was doing when he had to be operated on. When picking my cat up in the evening the vet was there to greet me and explained the whole procedure of what had taken place. He was very kind and very understanding. I would highly recommend this professional!
