I started at Medivet Gatley in October after completing my training at Ashton 24hr. I moved to Ashton at the end of November as all the staff were very friendly and helped me with my training. In my spare time I like to go for walks with my husband and dog Bruno. Family time is very important to me and I love spending time with them.

THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR PETS AND IMPEDE THEIR HEALTH they are awful since being taken over, I have now received a debt collection letter for £10, I haven't been at these vets for over 1 years, when I queried cost this via email and asked for someone to contact me no-one ever did, even after numerous times of trying to contact 'head office'. I left as they impeded the welfare of my dog and I wouldn't trust them a toy dog, prior to MEDIVET the vet was fantastic, now no-one cares .... absolutely awful place.

Poor experience at Medivet - Mossley. Staff were overstretched, IT was slow, my appointment was 15mins late, receiving medication was slow, which meant I was late for a meeting. Given one star for the excellent and professional vet, and for the patient & overstretched receptionist.

If you care about your best friend DO NOT GO HERE. Absolutely dreadful, was totally distraught when had to make the decision to let my best friend go and the whole experience was made a MILLION times or more worse by the staff at this place. Zero compassion, empathy, respect, sensitivity or understanding. Vet more bothered about saying my best friend had wonky veins and couldn’t get a line in due to IMCOMPETANCE and as she was slipping away said out loud “SHE’S NOT BREATHING BUT HER HEART IS STILL GOING “ while holding her front leg in the air and squeezing her rib cage. Absolutely appalling and no respect or dignity whatsoever. Made even worse when collecting ashes which were plonked on the counter like a takeaway order before a post it note was pulled out the bag saying “£350 owed!” and then insensitive staff questioned whether I had been given the correct ashes. Totally heartbreaking experience compounded by insensitive, uncaring, incompassionate, disrespectful staff. Would not wish this on worst enemy. Disgraceful. And please don’t try and dismiss this review by putting your generic “if you’d care to email…” as I have been trying to get some sense from you for weeks and have emailed Numerous times to find no help whatsoever, surprise surprise. It took you over 2 weeks to even have the common courtesy to acknowledge receipt and that was only because of the mention of RCVS

Terrible service. We recently moved to a new vet and they've failed to provide our new practice with any biochemistry results for tests we paid for within the last few months, meaning we now have to pay again to get our dog retested. They overcharge, completely failed to provide urgent appointments, and whenever we were awaiting results they would fail to call us within the promised time frame even when the issue was potentially life threatening. If you can, AVOID this practice!

This vet is wonderful! The best vet practice and my mum agrees the staff on reception are lovely and the vets are great! Clover enjoys going to the vet even though she’s had a vaccine every time! They are fabulous with the animals and booking appointments/payment is super easy! Amazing! Thank you - Sadie and Clover

I can't even bring myself to award this establishment 1 star for what they did. Our cat was sadly hit by a car and died and taken to this location to identify - this was the only thing they got right. On attending, identifying and instructing the young girl (who clearly had no idea what she was doing but grief blinded the obvious) to arrange private cremation and keepsakes and updated contact details - this all went wrong. I hope Mr Ian Mcconnell reads this and feels proud of his staff!! 1. Details incorrectly recorded. 2. Initially they couldn't find out what had happened to him on going to the crematorium therefore unable to update us when we rang to check on progress. 3. The young girl in reception 3 times went to ask a Nurse and Vet what process she should do. 4. The Nurse and Vet who have "dedicated their lives to the care of animals" were "TOO BUSY TO ASSIST" so felt unable to suggest my wife and daughter wait for a while until they were free to assist. They clearly lack dedication and empathy and should maybe consider a career change. 5. No checks were made during down time re the work completed by the Receptionist. 6. Incorrect recording by the Receptionist. 7. He was placed in a bag for disposal communally, wrongly tagged. How difficult is it to use the correct colour bag, correct matching tag, record it and confirm? Then when collection is made, confirm records correspond to the diary? We have been advised everything was destroyed, no keepsakes, and staff involved received verbal warnings. Should staff not be trained correctly and a fail safe procedure be in place? It's really not that difficult is it? And employ staff who care!!! Please note. No response from the review. Happy to thank positive comments … ignore negative. Excellent business model !!

24th January 2024, at 3.00am Medivets ASHTON Mossley, OUT OF HOURS SERVICE. I telephoned the above Branch of Medivets OUT OF HOURS SERVICE to be greeted with sorry cannot see you because I have no notes and no Nurse. Where you live? Only to be told go to Chorley. I asked the vet to repeat what he had said, as I was in shock to what I was hearing, Chorley! I cannot help you, as I have no nurse. I asked the vet is this not the OUT OF HOURS? Sorry, cannot help you, then the call ended. I was not asked what the EMERGENCY WAS. The call from start to finish lasted 1 minute. What a DISGUSTING Branch of Medivets. You call yourselves Professionals, last nights response fell well below Veterinarian Professional Standards. The EMERGENCY was our German Shepherd who had had surgery only five days earlier, had started vomiting up blood not only once, but three times. Lucky, for us we were assisted by two other Veterinary practices
