  • BOAS Surgery

BOAS, brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome, is a cause of upper airway obstruction in brachycephalic breeds. The most commonly affected dogs tend to be the smaller short-nose breeds, such as Pugs, French Bulldogs, English Bulldogs and Boston Terriers. Signs to look out for include exercise intolerance, gagging and loud noisy breathing. BOAS surgery is routinely performed at Medivet Kensington by our surgeon, VK and aided by nurses who have undertaken additional training in anaesthesia.

Book an appointment with any of the vets to discuss whether your dog would benefit from the procedure.

  • Laparoscopic neutering

Laparoscopic neutering (key hole spay) involves making 2 small incisions to remove the ovaries. There are many studies showing significantly improved recovery times for dogs, with up to 65% less post operative pain. Peter and Tom routinely perform this surgery on Wednesday, Thursdays and Fridays at the Kensington practice.

The vet took very good care of my dog, on a weekend and in what felt like it could turn into a medical emergency. The practice was accommodating and very thorough. The vet put my mind at ease at a very difficult time.

They always get it right the first time with diagnoses; and although it's clear they're extremely busy, their care and attention to detail is above and beyond. Hugo and I are very grateful for all their help!

BE AWARE OF THIS!!! TO ANY FUTURE CUSTOMER!!! They basically killed my dog, yet denying this has nothing to do with them. I visited this practice because my dog had diarrheas, but she ended up passing away in just 36HOURS after due to an infection on one of her legs where this practice injected fluids. My dog would not have been killed if I had not brought her to this practice as diarrheas would not kill her and I can not regret more to bring her to this practice. I made my WORST DECISION EVER in my life. I brought her in an absolutely fine condition apart from her vomiting, she was able to walk, lively. When I was told to pick her up the next day, she could not even stand up herself and she vomited again the the reception when I was paying for the bill. The vet came out told me that she ate in the morning(I did not see any sign of food , but only liquids.)and told me to massage her leg. She could not even put any weight on the leg at the time she was picked up. She REFUSED TO EAT ANYTHING except water ever since she left Mediate Kensington. I was only hoping that my dog would get better as I was told that she was absolutely fine when picked up. We all go to see vets, because we believe that they know better, but in fact you just can not trust every vet and this was the case. The Video was recorded 16hours after my dog was picked up. Watch the video and see how ridiculous it sounds to massage her leg. You can clearly see her pain. At this time, I knew that something had gone wrong with her leg where they did treatment. I brought her to the nearest vet and they found out the leg was bruised everywhere and I was referred to the biggest animal hospital in the UK, because she was in a critical condition. She ended up passing away because of this and this practice got the report of necropsy, yet saying that they have nothing to do with this. They said that they have followed all the procedure properly, so they are not responsible for my dog being killed. Ok, So my dog was fine and passed away due to the infection on the leg where you put the fluid in just 36 hours after? ARE YOU SERIOUS????? IT WAS A CANNULA INFECTION!!!!! BE AWARE THAT THIS CAN HAPPEN TO YOU. I AM TOTALLY DISCUSSED OF THEIR BEHAVIOUR. I STILL CAN NOT BELIEVE MY DOG HAD PASSED AWAY BECAUSE OF THIS PRACTICE!!! SHE DIED IN JUST 36HOURS!!! First Photo : She was handed to the vet. Second Photo : She was picked up (She looks sad and painful) Video : 12 hours after when I tried checking her leg. Third Photo : Infection on her leg when she was in coma. I am going to report this practice to RCVS. Feel free to PM me if anyone wants to know further. DO NOT COMMENT THIS TO ASK ME TO CONTACT YOU. I HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED YOUR RIDICULES EMAIL. IF YOU WANT TO DISCUSS FURTHER, YOU CONTACT ME.

Exceptional Care and Miraculous Recovery at Medivet - Thanks to Dr. Vishaal Corpaul I recently experienced a pet owner's worst nightmare when my beloved cat suffered a severe accident, resulting in his leg (tibia and fibula) being shattered into countless pieces. Faced with a grim prognosis and the looming possibility of amputation, I brought my cat to Medivet, hoping for a miracle. At Medivet, we were under the care of Dr. Vishaal Corpaul, a surgeon whose skill and dedication are nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we stepped into the clinic, we were greeted with compassion and professionalism, setting a tone of hope and positivity. Dr. Corpaul's approach to our case was meticulous and thoughtful. He explained the complex situation in understandable terms and laid out a treatment plan that, while ambitious, was our best shot at saving my cat's leg. His confidence and empathy were reassuring in a time of overwhelming stress and uncertainty. The surgery was a remarkable success. Against all odds, Dr. Corpaul managed to reconstruct the shattered bones with such precision that my cat not only kept his leg but also made a recovery that can only be described as miraculous. Throughout the recovery process, the care and attention provided by the Medivet team were exceptional. Their facilities are top-notch, and the staff's genuine affection for animals shines through in everything they do. Today, my cat is back to his playful, energetic self, as if the accident never happened. It's a testament to the incredible skill and care provided by Dr. Corpaul and the Medivet team. I am profoundly grateful for their expertise, dedication, and the heartfelt care they extended to my cat and me. To anyone seeking veterinary care, especially in cases that seem hopeless, I cannot recommend Medivet and Dr. Vishaal Corpaul highly enough. They are not just professionals at the top of their field; they are true lifesavers. I couldn't be happier. Thank you Vishaal from the bottom of my heart. You are a true hero.
