I've been a Branch Partner at Southend since 2015. I have a certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice in Internal Medicine and am close to completing a certificate in Cardiology. I run the hospital-side of the practice and love anything to do with internal medicine. At home I have two cats, two budgies and a giant land snail called Neal (so named as it is how my youngest daughter pronounces snail). Outside of work I spend the majority of my time with my family or rock-climbing. I travel around the world to rock-climb and have a climbing wall in my house, which I use as a training aid between trips.

I graduated from Glasgow Vet School in 2005 and came to Medivet Southend in 2014. I previously had two long term jobs in small animal veterinary hospitals and spent a year travelling around the world. My main areas of interest are surgery and endoscopy and I have certificates in endoscopy and keyhole surgery as well as Advanced Veterinary Practice with a surgical bias. When not at work, I enjoy spending time with family, walking with my Romanian rescue pup Lea, and being rudely awoken in the middle of the night by my cat Syril when he wants attention.

I qualified from the University of Glasgow Vet School in July 2015 and joined the Medivet Southend team in 2019. I'm particularly interested in soft tissue surgery and ophthalmology, and hope to begin working towards an ophthalmology certificate. In my spare time I enjoy playing hockey and am in the Old Southendian Hockey Club Ladies first team. When not playing Hockey I can be found in the gym or spending time with my ever-expanding family, including my English bulldog, Lola, whom I adore.

I qualified in 2016 from the University of Lisbon, Portugal, where I'm from. I joined Medivet in November 2018 and have been working permanently at Southend since January 2020. Medically, I have a strong interest in exotic species and am always looking for opportunities to further my knowledge of them. I also enjoy internal medicine. When not at work I enjoy spending time with my lovely cat named Panda. I'm also fond of travelling and bird watching.

I started here at Medivet Southend in 2020. I graduated in 2018 from the University of Evora, Portugal, and have been working in the UK ever since. Back home in Portugal I have a cross-breed dog named Luna and a cat named Pepper. When not at work, I enjoy being outdoors in the fresh air and going to the cinema regularly.

I joined Medivet in 2015, initially working days at Southend before moving onto nights. I obtained a certificate in Ophthalmology (eyes) in June 2018 and am starting a certificate in Keyhole Surgery in 2021. I'm from the Canary Islands and outside of work enjoy reading, going to the gym, playing guitar and swimming. At home I have two cats, Stevie and Gary, and an incredibly naughty sausage dog named Bruno. Randomly, my favourite animals are Jersey Cows.

I started with Medivet in 2019, after qualifying in 2018 at the University of Cluj-Napoca in Romania. I'm looking forward to enhancing my knowledge of internal medicine here at Medivet Southend. I used to own a cocker spaniel named Tommy who lived to the grand old age of 14. Outside of work these days my hobbies include reading and swimming, and I also take great pleasure in discovering different cultures and understanding their ways of life.

Interestingly, in my career, I've been known to scan fish, aardvarks and even cheetahs.

I qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2008 and have been our Head Nurse here since 2014. Since qualifying I've gained Advanced Nursing Certificates in Internal Medicine, Emergency and Critical Care and Exotic Animal Nursing. I enjoy studying outside of work to ensure I can provide the best care to our patients. When not studying, I enjoy DIY and gardening, spending time with my colony of rabbits and caring for my cat Pam whom some might remember to be our old practice cat.

I started with Medivet in 2016. Initially I worked during the day but have now gravitated to night shifts, and am very close to completing my nursing qualification. Whilst at work I love nothing more than caring for my patients, and I have a particular fondness for small, fluffy dogs. In my spare time I enjoy making music in the studio with my trusty guitar for company. My other favourite past time is eating and I consider myself a bit of a food connoiseur.

I specifically enjoy emergency nursing and hospital nursing. When not at work I am a self-confessed bookworm and turn my hand at creative writing, hoping to one day become a published author. I've worked for Medivet Southend since 2015 and absolutely love my job. I find the interaction with the patients and their humans incredibly fulfilling. I was initially inspired to work in the veterinary field after visiting my local Medivet practice and meeting my vet Johan, where I take my dog Niâmh. Niâmh is a ten and a half year-old German Shepherd and she means the absolute world to me. However, at work I also have a very special place in her heart for our practice cat, Gary. Outside of work I enjoy walking in the forest with Niâmh and my family.

I have had pets all my life, but I have never met such kind and compassionate vets as I did last week. Sadly the outcome was not good for our little dog, but the dedication and care she received was just amazing. Oliver and Roland also reached out to us as a family, particularly to my daughter, who they knew was struggling at such a tough time. We will never forget how they made us feel and the love they showed our Nellie. Thank you guys, a difficult profession at times, but please remember how amazing you have been. x 🐶❤️ x

Both my dogs have been poorly. The vets took great care of them and us, as twice we thought we were losing one of them. They looked after them so well that we now have both of them running about at home. They even phoned the first morning after we collected him to see how he was. The whole practice inc vets, nurses and reception staff could not have done or been more supportive. We cannot thank them enough.

When we needed an emergency out of hours vet for our beloved old dog Louis, these guys were faultless. Compassionate, Profesional and empathetic from the moment I called needing help to the day we collected his ashes. The little touches - a candle lit in reception, the condolence card and paw prints were touching. Thank you for making such a difficult time a little easier.

Polite, friendly and professional service both on the phone and in the practice. Sensitively handling our situation as our Westie had just had her first ever seizure - made a really difficult situation a little easier for both ourselves and our dog.

With the care given by all the staff from Reception to nurses and vets, our very nervous dog no longer worries about visiting. They have seen us through some very tough times when our dogs were very poorly. We feel that our pets are really cared for and are not just the next one in line. They have taken the stress away.

Would give more than 5 stars if I could! From the friendly receptionists to the vets to the caring nursing staff I can’t speak highly enough! My dog is nervous aggressive at the vets especially with men (he’s had some really bad experiences at other places in the past) and this is the only vets I’ve known (he’s 12 this year) to actually take the time to calm him down and make friends, he was very poorly the other week and Carmen was amazing with him at the out of hours appointment, Oliver calling with sample results and requesting a scan (I think Alex and another vet at admitting appointment) and subsequently a biopsy yesterday due to finding a mass on the scan, they have been nothing short of thorough and not at any point have they been negative about his older age as different vets have been in the past. They clipped him also whilst under general anaesthetic doing biopsy because certain areas are a struggle with his nerves and couldn’t believe when I picked him up after being there all day he’d had his muzzle off having a lovely time with the nurses and came out with a wagging tail and trust that’s never happened before! Whatever the results from biopsy the care he has received considering his temperament in a vets office is nothing short of fantastic and not at any point was I made to feel a rubbish owner from having a nervous reactive dog which has happened so many times in the past at other places!

My boxer dog Mia had to have a operation to remove a lump on her side which turned out to be abnormal hair follicles. Sammi the vet was amazing with her so caring & understood how she doesn’t get on with other dogs & reassured me that she will be ok & not get stressed out with seeing other dogs. Amazing vet, nurses & receptionist. Thank you for looking after my baby girl.

Nice vets but absolutely shocking prices, it’s about time these vets were regulated by the government, the prices they charge have gone beyond ridiculous.
