I started working at the practice in 2019 as a Patient Care Assistant and then became a Student Veterinary Nurse. Having grown up on a farm, I was keen to work with animals and veterinary nursing has always been a job I wanted to pursue. I thoroughly enjoy the practical aspects of the job and I have a growing interest in laboratory work as I find it fascinating what can be seen under the microscope. At home I have an elderly dog called Swift, who is an unusual cross - jack Russel and border collie. She loves being outside and going on walks. I also have a lovely rescue rabbit who is very affectionate. When I have spare time, I like to go for walks and explore the countryside with my friends.

The team at Skeldale are always amazing and particularly at the moment taking the time to offer confidence sessions with me because I was a big scardy dog about going into the vets. Zoe & Sandra are my BFFs but everyone has been brilliant with me and i am sure that i have started to turn a corner. Thank you so much for the time and effort everyone has put into me. Always professional and always friendly

During a worrying time and transfer from another practice, a warm welcome was received with a lovely calm and full run through of what was happening and next steps. I really felt that my dog was in the best hands and would feel cared for during her treatment and stay. Thank you all so much

My cats and I have been customers for nearly ten years now and in that time everyone has not only treated me kindly and professionally but of course most importantly treated my beloved cats with the kindness and professionalism that obviously we expect but in my experience is not always that easy to find. I find that cats can sometimes be pushed to the back of the queue in the running of a large multi animal practice like Skeldale, but here there have always been vets that seem to specialise in feline medicine and nurses that are particularly good with them. I also know that there have been many mixed feelings about the practice now being part of the Medivet group. From my personal perspective I feel that it has only helped my cats wellbeing and I really appreciate that i can make an appointment now instead of attending open surgery, as a busy working lady it makes all the difference . Regarding COVID you have all been so wonderful with the way you’ve set up the surgery and car park to continue caring for our animals and I love that the person who comes out to the car is always so kind, friendly and full of information about the cats during the appointment too. Hopefully one day we might be able to come back inside with our pets but until then I hope you understand how appreciative I am for your care and hard work. Lots of love, Tracey, Indiana and Harper Lee. Also I love seeing your photos of them on social media too! Thanks for asking permission to post but I love to see them.

At 0600 on Wednesday morning I rang Skeldale as our pup Aster had been very poorly over night. I spoke to Becky the Vet who carefully explained to me our options, the associated costs and signs of deterioration to look out for. At 0715 I called again as Asters condition had worsened and Becky asked me to bring her in immediately. Aster was seen as soon as we arrived by a vet nurse and then by Becky. We jointly made the decision for Aster to stay at Skeldale for some investigations/tests and subsequent treatment. Aster spent Wednesday day and night at Skeldale. The vets caring for her telephoned frequently to give us updates (daytime, evening and before bed) and kept us informed of her condition throughout with no prompting from me at all. They were conscious of how we were feeling anxious leaving our dog with them and reassured us every step of the way. Thankfully Aster responded well to treatment and came home with some medication on Thursday evening. I felt like we were consulted and informed all the way through Asters treatment, the choices and options, recommended next steps and costs were explained to me throughout and I have a happy healthy dog back home now. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the team at Skeldale to others. Thank you to all of the staff involved in caring for Aster and for looking after our little dog and us so well.
