The Collars & Coats Gala Ball is Battersea’s largest and most glamorous annual fundraising event. It is world-renowned for gathering some of the biggest names in entertainment to celebrate Battersea’s incredible work.
We were honoured to have been invited to support their 2017 event again after last year's success. We are delighted to announce that we pledged over £19000 to show our continued commitment and support towards Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.
Mickey the Pointer started life as a street dog in Turkey and was brought to Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in 2016 with severely bowed legs. Despite being a complex surgical case, the Battersea team felt they could give him the chance to walk properly, so he was referred to our orthopaedic surgeon, Ryk Botes, at Medivet Chafford Hundred, who generously offered to support Micky free of charge.
After an incredible ten months’ worth of specialist treatment, Mickey’s legs were straightened and he was ready to go home with our very own veterinary nurse, Naomi, also from Medivet Chafford Hundred, who helped care for Mickey during his treatment from the very start.
