As we all try to adjust to our new normal, here at Medivet we have been looking at ways that we can help our clients and their pets stay healthy during the current Covid-19 outbreak.

Our practices remain open, but in order to protect clients and our staff, new social distancing measures are in place at all practices. More detail on this is available here.

We do recognise that there will be cases where you have concerns about your pet, or need a prompt assessment and we are now providing phone and video consultations. These are available across all Medivet practices, you just need to give your local practice a call, discuss your concerns and they will decide on the best course of action. This could be a video consultation, phone consultation, or where advised a visit to the practice.

The phone and video consultations are full consultations with the vets and practice team that you already know. If the vet decides that your pet needs a physical examination in practice, you will not be charged a second consultation fee.

What do I need for a phone consultation?

  • A number that we can contact you on
  • The ability to email relevant photos of the condition or ailment in advance of the phone consultation (if required)
  • A credit or debit card for payment over the phone

What do I need for a video consultation?

  • A valid email address so we can send you some simple instructions on joining the video consultation with your pet
  • A mobile phone or tablet, or access to a desktop computer with audio/video capabilities
  • A credit or debit card for payment over the phone

For both the video consultation and phone consultation, you will need to have a credit or debit card available, in order to make the payment over the phone.

It’s a new way of consulting for you and our vets, but many clients have already completed successful consultations in this way and have been really happy with the experience.

Important: if you have any concerns about your pet or they become unwell, please call your local practice immediately and they will assess the situation and discuss the various options available to you.

Please be assured that we are here for you and your pet at, what we know, is a worrying and stressful time. We are having to adapt to this new world, and we appreciate your support in helping us to keep your pet’s safe, while ensuring that you and our teams stay protected.
