Our practices are open as usual and we’re here to help with all your pet’s needs, including routine care. All of our practices are offering Covid secure appointments and following social distancing guidelines to keep our colleagues and clients safe.
However, we do recognise that there may be occasions when it’s not possible for you to visit the practice, maybe because you’re self-isolating or unwell. To ensure that we can still provide care for your pet, we’re able to offer you a phone or video consultation.
A phone or video consultation enables us to quickly assess your pet’s needs and discuss and agree next steps. If the decision is that your pet needs to see a vet face-to-face, this can be arranged.
To book a phone or video consultation, you just need to call your local Medivet practice, discuss your concerns, and agree the best course of action with the team. This could be a phone consultation, a video consultation or a face-to-face appointment.
The phone and video consultations are full consultations with the vets and practice team that you already know. If the vet decides that your pet needs a physical examination in practice, you will not be charged a second consultation fee.
It may be a new way of consulting for you and our vets, but many clients have already completed successful consultations in this way and have been really happy with the experience. It allows us to continue to care for your pet safely.
Important: if you have any concerns about your pet or they become unwell, please call your local practice immediately and they will assess the situation and discuss the various options available to you.
