Safe Collection and Postal Delivery

We can now offer you contactless collection, postal or home delivery of many healthcare items from your Medivet branch team.

Regular and preventative care is important, even during the Covid-19 lockdown We have been looking at ways to ensure that you can safely access items for your pet to help maintain their health and wellbeing, while also ensuring everyone stays safe at this time.

We’re happy to share that we can now offer you contactless collection, postal or home delivery of many healthcare items from your Medivet branch team.

Our team can help with:

  • Flea and worm medication
  • Prescribed/regular medication that your pet needs*
  • Food necessary for special diets or purchased from our practices

To order medication, food or other items please contact your practice and they will help you. They will also be able to advise you on how long it might take to fulfil your order – in most cases this will be at least 48 hours.

Contactless Collection

The easiest and quickest way to obtain your medication is to place an order and arrange collection directly from the practice. You can pay for this over the phone, so there’s no need for any person to person contact at the practice.

  • Please contact us by phone to discuss and request medication. Our team will be able to advise you when your medication will be available to collect – this is likely to be a minimum of 48 hours
  • Please only visit the practice once we have notified you that your order is ready and attend at the agreed time
  • Please call us and confirm that you have arrived. We may request a car registration if you are coming by car
  • We will let you know how we intend to get the medication to you; our team will explain this to you over the phone. This could be:
    • A safe and secure box just outside the practice door or in the car park
    • Placed outside the practice door

Please be assured that we will only place medication in the secure box or outside the door once we are aware of your arrival. We will be monitoring it from a distance to ensure that everything stays safe and is collected by the right pet owner.

Postal Delivery

If it isn’t possible for you to get to the practice or arrange for anybody else to help you, we can arrange to post your medication to you. Again, you should contact your practice and they can explain the timings and exactly how this will work as well as arranging payment.

Things to remember for postal delivery:

  • Please contact us by phone and we will place the order and discuss timings. Please be aware we may need to order your medication from a supplier before we are able to post it to you. We will endeavour to get your medication ready for posting as quickly as we can.
  • The order needs to be under 1kg and able to fit in a post-box and of course through your letterbox. We will discuss this with you when you place the order. This service is not going to be suitable for ordering food.
  • The Royal Mail are experiencing some challenges at this time with staff shortages, please factor this into your own timing expectations. For urgent medication requirements, the contactless collection is a better option.
  • Please also bear in mind that there will be an additional cost for the postal delivery service.


Home Delivery

If neither of the two options above works for your personal circumstances, if for example you are vulnerable, self-isolating or a key worker such as those working for the NHS, it may be possible for our practice team to arrange delivery of your order by van. There will still be a requirement to place your order by phone and accommodate a delivery time around the care our team are providing in practice.

Any home deliveries will take place using strict social distancing guidelines. This will involve our practice staff delivering to your door, but not entering your premises. Upon arrival they will place the package on the doorstep and call you to alert you that it is there from an appropriate distance. There will not be any need to sign for the package.

Due to resource limitations, Home Delivery may not be available or may be limited to clients who need it the most. Thank you for your understanding. Please also remember that this service will incur an additional cost.
