Veterinary Surgeon - Thirsk, North Yorkshire - Full Time

Thirsk, North Yorkshire

Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for a new graduate or a veterinary surgeon with a few years’ experience to work at the famous Skeldale practice in North Yorkshire which was originally a James Herriot practice and now on TV as the Yorkshire vet!

This is a brilliant opportunity to work in a supportive environment with an established team of seven vets who will be able to train and support you. You will have a varied caseload as the mixed practice has 75% small animal, 15% large animal and 10% equine. The role will involve plenty of routine surgery, consults, open surgeries, farm work on beef, sheep and dairy, plus first opinion on equine.

This purpose built practice is on the edge of the beautiful Yorkshire Moors with good road links to the A1M and only two hours and thirty minutes away from London. Skeldale is fully equipped with an in house laboratory, dental suite, newly renovated surgical theatre and much more!

The ideal candidate will either be a new graduate or have a couple of years’ experience and a driver’s licence. Good communication skills are a must, alongside confidence and a can-do approach.
