I graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Lisbon in 2015. I also trained in Barcelona during my degree. I joined Medivet in 2016 and have worked in a variety of clinics across London, joining permanently the Camberwell team in February 2023 and finally becoming branch partner in February 2024. I hold a certificate in Internal Medicine and I am working towards a certificate in ultrasonography. I enjoy all aspects of veterinary medicine and have a particular interest in abdominal ultrasonography and management of medical cases. Outside of work I have a passion for travelling, reading and music and I escape to trek in nature whenever possible. I share my home with two very cheeky cats called Café and Luar who my partner and I have rescued.

The clinical staff are very good and gave excellent care to my cat. However, the customer care from the admin team is awful. I needed to claim back £1850 I had paid them from insurance. This required them to complete a basic online form from the insurance company which is probably a 3- to 5-minute minute task for them. I was told it would take them up to 4 weeks to do this owing to “a staff shortage”. The vet and nurse who saw my cat both said this was unacceptable and I should complain. So I sent a polite feedback email and received a really poor response implying that I was asking them to prioritise insurance forms over emergency treatment for sick animals - of course I wasn’t asking them to do that and it felt like they were trying to guilt-trip me for asking them to provide a reasonable standard of customer care. I can’t see how it is mutually exclusive to prioritise emergency care whilst at the same time ensuring you have sufficient admin staff to give a sensible turn-around time for insurance forms when I have paid them so much money to care for my cat.

I absolutely loved the whole experience, just like my cockapoo Leffe. My dog was welcomed by one of the nurses with so much love and that’s been the case the last few times. The new space looks and feels so fresh. Great team!

My dog was registered here for a few years. I don't think I saw the same vet or receptionist twice - who were always very nice. It's also extremely expensive for even just minor check ups. After a while I got tired of feeling like my dog was being cared for by a large faceless, cash grabbing corporation and moved to a smaller local vet. Great decision.

I'd like to highly recommend Medivets Camberwell. We are currently having tumour treatment here for our dog Cassie. The team, especially Alice and Burt have been brilliant thoughout the process and hopefully Cassie is now on the mend. They also helped with facilitating the direct payment via the insurance rather than us having to pay and claim back - very helpful especially after Christmas.. Also reassuring that it offers a 24hr service in case of emergencies. Highly recommend.

I have always had a good reception at Medivet 24 Hour Camberwell. They dealt with my last dog's raisin intoxication with skill and empathy. Ricardo is a natural when it comes to handling and interacting with dogs.

The appointment I had was for nothing, because I entered an hour and a half later than the initial appointment. After we managed to enter the vet's office, I waited for him to read from a book what the effects of the medications are and what to do in the case of my puppy, and for this consultation in which I only waited 40 minutes for him to finish the chapter, I paid 124£, plus the extra medicines, which by the way were also for humans and half the price in pharmacies compared to the price I paid at the vet.

I am writing this review to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the services provided by Medivet Camberwell. Unfortunately, my experience has been consistently disappointing, and I feel compelled to share my concerns. One of the most glaring issues is the poor communication between pet owners and the veterinary team. Despite multiple visits, I have always found the communication to be inadequate, making it challenging to understand the nature of my pet's care, fully. Also transparency regarding fees is severely lacking - even when explicitly asking for an approximate cost, the actual amount demanded at the front desk consistently exceeds expectations. The exorbitant fees charged by MediVet Camberwell are a significant concern, especially considering the apparent neglect in the level of care provided. Despite paying substantial amounts, the care my pet received was subpar, with a clear prioritisation of profit over the well-being of the animals. Over the past year, my cat has suffered from persistent scratching, leading to the formation of wounds. Despite undergoing various expensive diagnostic procedures, essential checks were overlooked such as flea and worm checks which we now know is the cause. During our last visit, a skin sample was taken from my cat, resulting in a large wound. Shockingly, the vet did not clean the wound, yet we were charged over £300 for the procedure. This lack of attention to basic post-procedural care is unacceptable and further highlights the disregard for the animals' well-being. It is disheartening to realise the substantial amount of money wasted at Medivet Camberwell, especially given the absence of major surgeries or serious health issues. I expect a full refund for our last appointment, as the quality of service provided does not justify the steep costs incurred. I hope this feedback prompts improvements in communication, transparency, and overall pet care at Medivet Camberwell.
