Ella's Pawsteps: Part 5

All too early into Ella’s deployment, she was called to her first rhino poaching with Eric.

As the post-mortem was performed to locate the bullet, Ella was hard at work with her nose to the ground following the scents left behind – from almost 24 hours previously! Due to her training, she was fully prepared for the task and remained un-phased by the whole situation. Being the dedicated and determined girl that Ella is, she persevered and kept tracking late into the night.

“Putting her training into practice is a big step and achievement for Ella”, reports Eric. “I couldn’t be more proud of her and how she handled everything.”

Although losing another rhino to poaching is devastating news, it’s reassuring to know we’ve got committed four legged friends like Ella to help bring justice for our beautiful horned creatures!
