Symptom Checker

If you’re not sure whether your pet needs to see a vet, our quick and easy Symptom Checker can help. Answer a few simple questions about the signs of illness your pet is displaying and the checker will advise whether a trip to the vet is necessary and how urgently that specialist care should be given.

Lead Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified in 1998 and have run Bedworth King Street for 11 years. I’m proud to be a Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Advanced Practitioner, having gained extra qualifications in Small Animal Surgery over the last eight years. These include a General Practitioner Certificate in Small Animal Surgery and a Post Graduate Certificate in Surgery. I recently attended Total Hip Replacement training and hope to introduce hip replacements to our service in the coming year. I have a black Labrador, an elderly cat and a teenage daughter at home to keep me busy.

Jane Taylor

Head Veterinary Nurse

I started as a Student Veterinary Nurse in 1995 after helping out at a veterinary practice during my school years. I qualified as a vet nurse in 1997 and became a clinical coach for student nurses. So far, I’ve trained 21 students, an achievement I’m enormously proud of. I'm also qualified in behaviour consulting, small animal nutrition, training and mentoring and practice management and administration. I’m particularly passionate about nurse consulting, and many clients see me for their regular appointments. Having run the Bedworth surgery with Mark for the past 11 years, we’re so proud of our team and the service we offer to our local community. At home, I look after Hope, our black Labrador, Kully the cat and Eloise our teenage daughter. Life is busy, but there’s always time for lots of hiking at weekends.

Veterinary Nurse

After completing work experience at Bedworth King Street, I knew I wanted to be a veterinary nurse. I subsequently joined the practice in September 2015 as a Student Veterinary Nurse, before completing my training to become a fully-fledged Registered Veterinary Nurse. I'll be helping to train my first student as a Clinical Coach this year. I'm also currently working towards a veterinary dental certificate and I particularly enjoy laboratory work and consulting. At home, I have two cats called Star and Tortie,

I joined the Bedworth King Street team as a mobile member of staff in July 2018. Working between practices meant I was able to meet lots of different clients and pets, giving me plenty of veterinary experience. I’m looking forward to starting my training as a Student Veterinary Nurse in September. I own a five-year-old Cockapoo called Bess, two horses, and a guinea pig named Chummy.

Client Care Assistant

I have worked at the Bedworth King Street branch on reception since November 2014, after studying Animal Management at college. I then went on to earn an NVQ in Customer Service. I have always loved anything to do with animals and I have two dogs and two rabbits of my own.

Janet Stainer

Client Care Assistant

I started working as a practice-trained veterinary nurse in 1986 before becoming a Client Care Assistant in 2007. In the past, I’ve had many pets from cats and dogs to rats, bearded dragons and even a tarantula. Recently I’ve taken on two rescue ferrets and I’ve hand-reared a pigeon that doesn’t want to leave home. I’ve been married to my husband for 25 years and I spend my time writing poems, doing crochet and cross stitch and playing with my four nieces.
