  • Your vet in Bromley

We are a veterinary practice located near the centre of Bromley. We have many clients from Bromley, Chislehurst, Keston, Chelsfield and Orpington. What distinguishes us from most other practices is that we have longer consultations, and we use this extra time to rigorously assess your pet and thoroughly discuss the tests and treatment options with you. Because of this relationship, we know our clients well, and over the years, come to think of them as friends. We have many clients who have been coming to us for over forty years.

Dear Team, WE wanted to extend my deepest gratitude to all the veterinarians who took care of Teddy, especially during his final moments last Friday. A special thank you to Evelyn and Sarah for their exceptional kindness and thoughtfulness. It was a comfort to have such attentive, caring individuals by our side during such a difficult time. Thank you all once again for your compassion and dedication.

Great service at the vets for my dog’s annual check up. Receptionist very friendly and welcoming to all clients and their pets, showed real care for clients who brought their pets in for more urgent matters. The vet was also lovely and spent time finding out information about my dog to build a picture of his health (first time we had met this vet). Thank you all.

My appointment was not on the system, somehow the appointment I had made when at the practice earlier in the week was not properly recorded. I did not have to wait long, but it caused me some concern as it was a follow-up appointment to my dog's leg amputation. Due to this error, the vet did not know the history of my dog.

Expert and empathetic care on very short notice. Held me together somehow when I was in bits making an extremely decision. Every member of staff I encountered was a credit. Thank you again for your kindness and patience with me.

I have been coming to this veterinary surgery for some years now and the service and care has been excellent. The receptionists, nurses and vets that have worked there pre Medivet are amazing! However, since the dreaded Medivet has taken over, the once warm, inviting, local veterinary surgery, it has turned into, well, the cold business of Medivet. My husband seen a new Medivet vet and said that the new graduate was far more concerned in selling more products and tablets (that the dog did not need, nor had my husband asked),than listening to what he was saying. He said he felt very uncomfortable and that it was a complete sales pitch. We all know veterinary practices are businesses, but sadly Medivet has ruined The Laurels and any very good vets and nurses will most probably jump ship and be replaced by newbies at a lower cost.

This is a mixed review. I’ve used this vets for years with all my small animals and got excellent care, unfortunately that’s not the case anymore. The reception staff are always so friendly and helpful managing more than once to squeeze me in for emergencies. But it’s taken going to a new vets to see the quality that this practice is missing. In these emergency appointments they felt rushed and burdensome, it seemed the vet was more concerned with going home and going on holiday as we kept being reminded by other staff coming to say goodbye than treating my small pet. Just today when the same small animal, my Guinea Pig is in desperate need for medical attention gets told that they have no vets in the practice and we should just wait out the inevitable! That inevitable being her death. Where has the standard of care gone?? Won’t be using this place again.

This is a very mixed review The staff are wonderful. Kind, friendly and have the very best interests of the pets. But, since being taken over by Medivet trying to get an appt is as difficult as getting an appt with a GP. After trying for 6 weeks to get an appt last week, I arrived at the vets for the first appt of the day to be told that my appt had been cancelled (they had called mr when I was enroute but I had missed their call/text/email as I was driving) because a vet had called in at short notice to advise they weren’t coming in to work. All credit to the team when I explained that without the appt I could not get my cats vaccinated, which meant I couldn’t put them in the cattery, which meant I wouldn’t be able to go on holiday. They did squeeze me and I’m very grateful. They need more staff and support to be able to continue the high level of care we have previously had. I moved from another vets that was part of a large chain/franchise. I hope I won’t have to move again.
