Good vets, very caring.

My first experience taking my new rescue bulldog to the vet- she was quite nervous and unsure, he was extremely rough with her, leaving her whole body shaking. She jumped up on the chair as we entered the room as she was quite erratic because she was nervous and didn’t really know what to do with herself. He told me to ‘get her off now’ in an extremely rude way, and that those chairs were for people, as if I didn’t know, which was putting my dog even more at unease. I was just trying to do my best for her. He was then rude with me the entire 2 minute appointment, listing illness’ bulldogs can get in a rude manner and basically saying why I shouldn’t have got one, when I was well aware of them and she was a rescue! Also said he wouldn’t spay her at 10 months old as he didn’t believe me when I told her she had a season previously, when she had. He then charged me £60 for basically nothing. Visited magnolia vets in Christchurch and they were kind and gentle with her, getting down on her level when she clearly was unsure and showing nervous behaviours. They did through checks and suggested it was a good idea to get her booked in for her spay. Did her pre spay appointment all for free. I would never go back here, such a rip off and thinks he can tell people how to look after their own dogs when he clearly can’t read dogs behaviours well. I left feeling extremely defeated as it was the first time I had ever taken a dog to the vet and felt he was just giving a rude lecture the entire time - to then charge me £60 for it.

The vet is lovely very patient with people at very sad times of their lives. Never had problem booking appointments and emergency treatment can't fault the service. Receptionist are lovely and friendly and always smiling and chatty.
