I graduated from Edinburgh university in 2013, I moved to Oxford straight after. Here I met my partner Rich and we adopted our baby cat Arthur who was rescued at the RSPCA. I love all animals but have a particular interest in feline medicine. Outside of work I like gaming, amateur dramatics and all crafts including cross stitch and crochet.

Julie joined the team at Eynsham in November 2022. She qualified as a vet at the Royal Veterinary College in London in 1999 before settling in Oxfordshire where she has worked for most of her career. She has been involved with many types of animals but for the most part has focused exclusively on dogs, cats and smaller pets. Julie lives locally with her partner, three children, their cat Pixie, and the occasional wild rescue! She loves the outdoors and when not working likes to spend her time gardening, riding, skiing and exploring the countryside.

Head Veterinary Nurse

After completing my Degree in Equine science and management in 2011 I enrolled with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons to train as a Veterinary Nurse. I initially worked at the Woodstock 24 hour branch which I really enjoyed before qualifying and becoming Head Nurse at Eynsham. I have a special interest in Anaesthesia and enjoy assisting with the daily procedures in the practice. I spend most of my spare time out in the countryside, either horse riding or walking my dog and my favourite weekends usually include a horse show or a Sunday lunch in a local dog friendly pub. I also have black cat called Bluebell who was rescued as a stray brought into the practice.

I started with Medivet in July 2018 as a Patient Care Assistant and joined Medivet Eynsham in January 2021. I have a diploma in Animal management and a BSc (Hons) degree in Animal Welfare and Behaviour which I took with Oxford Brookes University. I recently became a Student Veterinary Nurse, with the end goal of becoming a Qualified Veterinary Nurse. At home, we have two turtles Mike and Raph, a 1 year old budgie called Tweety and a cat called Gotham. My West Highland Terrier Misty lives with my mum and dad but we have her as much as we can. Outside of work, I enjoy attending rock concerts, Outings with my family and spending time with friends.

Just want to say a huge thank you to the fabulous vet (I’m so sorry, I have forgotten her name) who saw my kitty Seraphina. She was so caring, reassuring and informative. Also a big thanks for making the experience for my 2yr old a fun one, I was worried about bringing her in, however I needn’t have….you were all fab.

The care and attention that Fiona has showed my cats cannot be faulted. She genuinely cares and that means everything when entrusting the health and wellbeing of a loved pet to a vet. The veterinary nurses are also very helpful and friendly. I would not hesitate to recommend the Eynsham practice.

Top marks for the great care and attention our dog received from Fiona and the Team at Medivet Eynsham. Our dog, Baxter, had an operation today and was cared for extremely well, we were kept informed at all times, which is so important to us. He is home now and making a great recovery. Thanks so much for taking such good care of our boy. 5 stars from us and I would highly recommend this veterinary practice.

Latest visit in May was very positive. Female vet on duty was very good with my dog, who can be anxious around new people, so I was pleased that the vets actions came across as knowledgeable, caring and quick so visit did not prolong any unneccesary stress.
