Veterinary Surgeon

I am a veterinary surgeon graduated from Faculdade de Medicina Veterinária, University of Lisbon, Portugal, in 2009. In the initial years following graduation, I worked in a small animal veterinary practice in Lisbon. In 2016, I decided to expand my horizons and embrace new challenges by moving to the United Kingdom. Since then, I have been part of the Medivet team, contributing with my expertise across various branches and hospitals. My main interests are internal medicine and emergencies. I am currently working towards an emergency certificate with the British Small Animal Veterinary Association (BSAVA). Beyond my professional achievements, I share my home with four rescue dogs and three rescue cats, embodying my deep commitment to animal welfare and rescue efforts. My compassion for animals extends beyond the clinic, providing a loving home to pets in need. In my free time, I enjoy staying active and embracing outdoor adventures. I am a CrossFit enthusiast and a passionate snowboarder, finding balance and rejuvenation in these physical activities. I also loves spending my free time with my big animal family.

I graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2017, and have been working in small animal veterinary practice ever since. Originally from Cheshire, I moved to London initially for university but loved it here so much that I never left. I am particularly interested in internal medicine and nutrition, and in my spare time I also give talks about the profession and help aspiring vets get into university. I have a beautiful Italian Greyhound called Teazel at home and hope to expand my animal family again soon. In my free time, I enjoy baking (almost made it onto GBBO), going to exercise classes around London and seeing my friends - I'm always a keen dinner party host!

I'm currently on my journey to become a Veterinary Nurse, studying at Middlesex University. Originally from Colombia, I've always had a deep love for animals, which has led me to where I am today! I share my life with three amazing rescue cats, each with their own tale of resilience. They're not just pets; they're my family. At work, I pride myself on my compassion and dedication. I'm committed to ensuring that every animal I meet receives the highest standard of care. I believe in the power of continuous learning and am always eager to expand my knowledge and skills to better serve our animal friends and their families. When I'm not at work or buried in my studies, you'll find me embracing the great outdoors, taking long walks in nature to recharge and find inspiration. I also have a love for exploring new cuisines and enjoying good food. I'm excited about the journey ahead and honored to be part of a team that shares my commitment to improving the lives of animals.

I qualified as a Veterinary Nurse (BSc Honours) in 2020 from Middlesex University. I have worked with Medivet since I started my nursing career at 18 years old but also gained extra experience and knowledge with working at some referral hospitals at the same time. If I'm not at Medivet Hampstead, I'm most likely doing nights shifts so you may see me at your 2am emergency appointment. Outside of work my interests include gym, pilates and pet sitting.

Insurance and Accounts Manager

I graduated as a veterinarian in Nairobi after which I lived in Los Angeles, Berlin and Italy, where I gained further experience before moving to London. I have taken on the role as an insurance and accounts manager as I prepare to get licenced to practice in the UK. People refer to me as an insurance encyclopaedia; knowledgeable in all the ins and outs of pet insurance. I am certainly always happy to help answer any questions regarding insurance. While I do love all pets, I'm particularly partial to small fluffy dogs thanks to my precious Scrabble (pictured above) who sadly moved on but remains in my heart always!

I have consistently had positive experiences with the veterinarians at this vet, but unfortunately, my recent interaction with the receptionist on February 29th, 2024 was quite disappointing. This receptionist, who I recall from a previous visit, insisted that I switch to another branch in Temple Fortune ( where much more professional receptionists ) , due to what I perceived as unprofessional behavior at this branch. Despite my request to simply transfer my pet's records to another vet for a second opinion, it was not for change to new vet but she made me decided to do so because she hung up phone with no words after I finished my conversation and I felt so upset. This experience is regrettable, especially considering the excellent service provided by the veterinarians. I’m so sorry for them.

I’ve been to many vets for the last 20 years. I’d really really highly recommend both Sarah and Patricia. They’ve always worked to make my dog and myself feel at ease and truly know what they are doing. I have no doubts in my mind when they give their opinion and they really do what’s in the best interest of my pet. The reception and nursing team are also always friendly and willing to help and I’d really recommend this practice for anybody looking for a vet!

I visited Medivet with my husband and we waited for 30 minutes over our appointment time. The waiting area consisted of a few chairs right next to a builder drilling into the wall, causing dust to fall right into my face. I have a dust allergy and it made me very ill over Christmas. I am pregnant and cannot take antihistamines unfortunately When we finally saw the vet, she was rude to us. We said we suspected our ragdoll cat may be pregnant. We have a male ragdoll cat and had wanted them to have one litter before being neutered. She told us off for breeding and said our unneutered cat would likely get an aggressive cancer tumour. She then took our cat away and came back to say 'no your cat is fat and eats a lot.' She was very abrupt with us, although did say to come back in a few weeks to check again. We had such an awful experience we decided to never go back again. We had visited several times before and our appointment was always about 30 minutes late, plus each time we saw a different vet so there was no personal touch. My cat was also traumatised from the drilling noises and disruption. A few weeks later our cat Cleo gave birth to a beautiful litter. We are now with Village Vet who have been amazing, Cleo will see the same vet each time and get the proper care that every pet owner wants. Dad cat has since been neutered at Village Vet who were incredible with him also.
