Partner and Veterinary Surgeon

After qualifying in 1992 in South Africa, I worked at various practices before coming over to the UK where I worked for Medivet from 1995 to 2000. I returned to South Africa and bought into a small animal hospital in Pretoria, working there for the next 16 years. When my daughter decided to study in London, I contacted Medivet again and took over a group of practices (including Horncastle) in November 2016. I’m married to Roenel, a Veterinary Nurse, and I have a dog called Jessie, who is still in South Africa. In my spare time, I enjoy running, swimming, walking, horse riding, scuba diving, golf and travel.

I moved to the UK from Poland in March 2019 with my son Miki. My areas of interest are dermatology, internal medicine and reproductive health of small animals. I thoroughly enjoy working for Medivet, practising my surgery skills and meeting clients and their pets. At home, I have two Schnauzers who are sometimes well behaved.

I started at Medivet on work experience when I was 13 and never looked back. I went to other practices in the meantime, but eventually returned to Medivet Horncastle in 2015 and was promoted to Head Veterinary Nurse. I enjoy supporting my nursing team, making patients feel at ease, seeing them grow over the years and interacting with clients who I have a bond with. I have a son called Callum and have recently adopted an English Bulldog called Stella.

I have a degree in Animal Behaviour Science and previously ran a dog walking business. I started at Medivet as a Patient Care Assistant in November 2018 and have enjoyed all aspects of animal care and nursing; in particular, anaesthesia and getting to know clients and their pets. I’m looking forward to going to college in the future to gain my Veterinary Nursing qualification. Outside of work, I have two cats, a tortoise and a snake.

I studied at Riseholme College for a qualification in Animal Management, and then went on to work for Bransby Horses for four years as an equine welfare assistant. I joined Medivet Horncastle in October 2018 and enjoy looking after inpatients, being hands-on and seeing their progress. As an animal lover, I have three snakes, a dog and a black and white Tegu lizard.

I grew up with many pets and have always had an interest in animal care. I studied Criminology at university and have worked in client care roles in the past, but I always knew I wanted to work with animals. I became a Patient Care Assistant in November 2018 and have enjoyed meeting clients, gaining new nursing skills and learning about different species. Back home, I have chickens, cats and recently adopted a rescue dog called Zeus.

From a young age, I always wanted to work with animals and went on to study for a degree in Zoology. I have worked in an emergency vet practice in the past, and I moved to Medivet Horncastle in 2016 as a Patient Care Assistant. Since then, I’ve been training to become a Registered Veterinary Nurse and I particularly enjoy learning about different conditions and monitoring anaesthesia; looking after patients and seeing them get better the most rewarding part of my job. I spend my free time with my two cats and my crazy Parsons Jack Russell called Hugo.

I originally came into practice in 1986 to teach the staff how to use the new computers, and the fact that I’m still here shows how much I love it. I thoroughly enjoy working with our dedicated team and helping our super clients every day. I don’t have any pets at the moment but I’ve previously owned a rabbit, a goat, five dogs and a horse.

We have just moved back to UK from France where we had an excellent vet and were wondering if the new vet in Horncastle would measure up! The answer is "Yes, 95%". Sorry about the missing 5%, but our previous vet was truly exceptional and we did not expect anyone to match them fully. However, we were pleasantly surprised that Banovallum got so close. Well done, particularly to the assistant called Matt who our dog adored on sight!

Very caring and always available. My dog enjoyed the examination and did not feel the injection. Tilly took a shine to the vet and even washed his ears for him .

Banovallum vets in horncastle and coningsby are fantastic. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. they provide everything I need for Luna plus they are brilliant at what they do and they all know her history. They cared for Lunas needs when she was a sick kitten, she pulled through the illness despite her brothers and sisters sadly not making it that were homed elsewhere. Luna is thriving now and I feel very lucky, I am so thankful to the staff of horncastle and coningsby for all help they provided us with.
