Lead Veterinary Surgeon

I grew up in Australia and practiced there for 4 years before moving to the UK in 2017. I have an interest in all parts of general practice, everything from consulting with birds and pocket pets to surgery on our big London dogs. Outside of work I play AFL for a local team and enjoy skiing, surfing and climbing.

I've worked at Hornsey in various roles for 29 years and have loved getting to know all our local clients and pets. I have a diploma in Feline Medicine, and I’ve gained an enormous amount of experience caring for older pets. At home, I have two cats; one maine coon and a rather distinguished domestic long-haired cat.

I started as a cattery assistant and part-time receptionist and loved it so much that I went on to become a Veterinary Nurse. I particularly enjoy working with cats but I’m also known and loved by our dog visitors too. At home, I have a large collection of pets and I’m nicknamed ‘Noah’ for my ever-increasing animal family.

I’ve worked at Hornsey since January 2019 and I’ve enjoyed every second of my job so far. I’m originally from Donegal and I have a degree in Health and Social Care. I absolutely love working with animals. I have been adopted by my diva of a cat called Figaro.

Victoria and the team are so caring. They really go the extra mile to both explain treatments and options and care for my animals. I know they are busy but they always ring back promptly if I need to talk to them and Victoria in particular really understands how much we care for our animals and she cares too. I also get the impression that she is very good in terms of understanding the latest treatments and procedures and communicating clearly but empathetically what to expect from them.

Amazing, caring vet with highly professional, knowledgeable and caring staff. My cat Barry had a wonderful experience at this practice two weeks ago. From being able to accommodate us at short notice through the extremely professional reception and nursing staff to the wonderful vet Victoria, everyone was most helpful, supportive and understanding of a cat that had been refusing to eat and his crying owner, i.e. me. Victoria has excellent listening skills and it was apparent that she was really trying to understand everything that had happened to the cat and took all my concerns very seriously. Her advice worked like magic and, within just a few hours, my cat was back to his former playful and hungry self. I am grateful beyond words and would not take Barry anywhere else now. Thank you so much for helping us in our hour of need and for restoring Barry's health!
