  • Your vet in Horton

Welcome to our veterinary practice in Horton. Our easily accessible location and free parking means visiting us couldn't be easier.

Animal welfare is our passion, and we're proud to offer a wide range of services and excellent facilities.

We look forward to helping your pet live a long, healthy life.

  • Separate dog and cat waiting areas

We understand that a trip to the vets can be stressful for some pets, so we offer separate waiting areas for dogs and cats. This allows us to reduce noise and interaction between pets to allow for a calmer experience for all.

  • Running the London Marathon for Guide Dogs

Our vet Sophie will be running the 2020 London Marathon in aid of Guide Dogs. We provide care for several guide dogs, so Sophie’s hoping to raise funds for this deserving cause via sponsorship. If you’d like to donate, please speak to a member of our team.

Meet the team

Sophie Cornelissen

Lead Veterinary Surgeon

Sophie Cornelissen

Lead Veterinary Surgeon

I joined the team after graduating from the University of Nottingham and moving to London. I’m especially interested in surgery and emergency and critical care. At home, I have a brand new British Short Haired kitten called Sherman and I have two Labradors and a Dachshund/Border Terrier cross back in Cheshire. I enjoy keeping fit (I’ll be running the London Marathon for Guide Dogs in 2020) and travelling.

Partner and Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified as a vet in 1998 and started at the Horton practice in 2013. I love all areas of veterinary care, particularly eyes, surgery and internal medicine. I currently own two hamsters, Fang and Fidget.

I originally qualified in Berlin, Germany and joined the team in 2011. Unfortunately, I don’t have any pets, but I do have two children that I love spending time with.

Sarah Osborn

Head Veterinary Nurse

I started at Medivet in June 2014 and I’m currently working as maternity cover for the Head Veterinary Nurse role. I trained via Medivet’s in-house training college in 2018, but before this, I volunteered for Battersea Dogs and Cats Home and Wildlife Aid. I thoroughly enjoy emergency and critical care. Up until recently, I had a very geriatric Cavalier King Charles Spaniel called Archie.

Tarnya Grover

Patient Care Assistant

Tarnya Grover

Patient Care Assistant

I’m currently working as a Patient Care Assistant, but I’m proud to say that I’ve just enrolled as a veterinary nursing student at the Medivet Training College. Before joining Medivet, I completed a BSc Honours in Animal Management and volunteered at a reptile rescue centre for two and a half years. I’ve also spent two weeks volunteering in South Africa. At home, I have a ginger and white Domestic Short Haired cat called Red, a Persian cross called Gollum and two snakes: Tyberius, an Okeetee Corn Snake, and Nagini, a Royal Python.

Student Veterinary Nurse

After starting as a Patient Care Assistant, I’m now studying hard to complete my Veterinary Nurse training with the Medivet Training College. I grew up in Yorkshire and previously spent time volunteering at rescue shelters before moving to London to train. I have a Golden Retriever called Ruby who loves to play with my tortoise, Speedy.

Student Veterinary Nurse

I’m currently in my second year of studying to become a Registered Veterinary Nurse, having previously worked as a Patient Care Assistant with Medivet. I’ve always wanted to work in a vet practice from a very young age, so I can’t wait to qualify and begin my career. Outside of work I have two beautiful Cockapoos called Bentley and Belle.

The appointment was on time and Sophie was absolutely excellent. She was thorough and attentive to my boys, explaining everything we needed to know and managed to cut an errant nail which no-one has been able to do!

My 2 boy cats do not like going to the vets but they don’t mind being seen by Sophie. My cat Rio relaxes on the scales and lets Sophie cut his claws. My cat Jacob doesn’t like being moved around but lets Sophie. My mum takes the boys to see Sophie and now looks at her as a friend not a vet. Basically my cats and mum love Sophie.
