Lead Veterinary Surgeon

I'm the Lead Vet at Medivet Lawley! I graduated from Liverpool Vet School 11 years ago and also have a science degree and masters from Cambridge University. I am passionate about animals and love all aspects of my job, especially internal medicine and soft tissue surgery! Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my son George, going on long walks with my dog Buddy and playing netball and rounders!

Veterinary Surgeon

I moved to the UK in 2013 from New Zealand, where I grew up as a dual national as my mother is English. I attended Massey University and graduated in 2009 with a BVSc. I started working with Medivet in early 2021 and enjoy nearly all aspects of general practice vet work, although I am especially interested in soft tissue surgery, wound management, dentistry, ophthalmology and animal behaviour. I live with my husband and rescue terrier Peanut, and in my spare time enjoy gardening, art, doing anything with animals and going on long dog walks with friends (ideally to a pub)!

Head Veterinary Nurse

I have worked with Medivet for 2 years now. I initially started as a mobile nurse across all of the Medivet branches before becoming the Head Nurse at Lawley. I enjoy the diverse nature of nursing; no day is ever the same! I love seeing all the dogs and cats and I have a particular interest in small mammals and exotics. Having completed the small mammal module of the exotics certificate, I am currently pursuing the reptile module. Additionally, I am completing the ISFM Cat Friendly Veterinary Professional course and I am working towards making our practice a cat-friendly clinic. Outside of work, I love spending time with my family going on walks and days out and I like to unwind by cuddling up on the sofa with my five cats.

Lauren Armstrong

Deputy Head Veterinary Nurse

I'm Lauren and I'm the Deputy Head Nurse here at Lawley! I originally started working with Medivet as a Patient Care Assistant back in 2018! I soon gained a permanent position at another branch, where I would start my Veterinary Nursing training. I moved to the Lawley branch over 3 years ago and later qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in June 2021. I am a clinical coach, meaning I support and guide our student nurses through their training and help them to achieve their qualification. At work, I am particularly interested in surgical nursing and anaesthesia and hope to one day complete a certificate in these areas. Outside of work, I love to travel, explore and I have two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels (one is a rescue!) who both keep me very busy!

I have worked with Medivet for over 4 years, starting as a mobile Patient Care Assistant and progressed onto becoming a permenant member of the team at Lawley over two years ago, then becoming a student nurse. I have my own fur baby called Bear, who is a domestic short haired cat that I rescued. I have a keen interest in behavioural studies and will be looking at completing a certificate once I have finished my studies. In my spare time, I enjoy going for long walks up hills and reading!
