Robert Wienesen

Partner and Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified as a veterinary surgeon in 2012 from Utrecht University in the Netherlands and moved to England in 2012. I’m now studying towards my Certificate in Exotic Animal Practice. I’ve worked for Medivet since 2014, seeing this little branch grow into a full-fledged practice, seeing both the more traditional and exotic pets. At home I have two dogs called Sita and Rufus, two guinea pigs called Athos and Porthos and a turtle called Sebastian. In my free time I enjoy completing triathlons and work with model trains.

I studied veterinary medicine in Poland and graduated in 2018. Since then I’ve done two internships in Italy and Portugal and later moved to England to practice. I’ve been working for Medivet since the end of 2018 and I’m mobile between branches in the Reading area. At home I have two dogs, Misiek and Daisy and two cats, Franek and Mapecik. Outside of work I like swing dancing and roller blading.

Since finishing my degree in veterinary nursing in 2015 I’ve worked in a number of different practices, including referral and emergency care. I’m particularly interested in anaesthesia and training our student nurses. I’ve now been working at Medivet since December 2017. At home I have a working cocker spaniel called Ozzy. As with all good veterinary pets Ozzy creates his fair share of chaos, even though he is 11 years old now. Outside of work I love long country walks with my dog and relaxing with my friends and family.

I completed a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Animal Management at Merrist Wood and have a FdSc in Animal Behaviour and Welfare from Kingston University. I also completed some conservation work in South Africa during my studies. I’ve been in practice since July 2017, beginning as a mobile team member. I’ve now been a permanent member at Lower Earley since July 2019. I have three rescue dogs, all crossbreeds; Barney, Talia and Amber. In my spare time I love to spend time with my family and friends.

I finished my A-levels in 2017, after which I volunteered for a music charity in Uganda and became involved with cat and dog rescue. I’ve been working for Medivet since 2018 and began as a Patient Care Assistant before starting my studies as a student nurse in September 2019. I have two cocker spaniel brothers called Ronnie and Jack. In my spare time I play the trombone and love looking after my dogs.

Very helpful and friendly staff, they take time for treating our furry friends properly. Especially in difficult times like this, when Covit19 makes it even harder to do so!

Vet Patrycja was very kind and gentle with my dog Maisie and gave a thorough examination. Explained everything she was doing and why. Came up with a plan for my girl quickly and efficiently. So happy to write that Maisie, 3 hours post medication, is much much happier and moving easily! Thank you all.

Our cat cought its tail in a recliner chair and needed an emergancy amputation. Vet Robert and two nurses came to our house to do it. Their care and help were fantastic, we don't know what we would have done without them. Afterwards the whole team kept us up to date with daily phone calls on our cats progress. Thanks to them she has made a full recovery.

My cat is irreplaceable I need to be able to trust those treating him. I have gained confidence in the vet’s and nurses’ abilities and understandings by listening to their answers to my questions and the subsequent successful recovery of my cat. My cat has a skin allergy which arises suddenly for no apparent reason and results in him scratching the whole of his neck and chin raw and within hours looks a total bloody mess. The staff at Elm Lane have been absolutely wonderful with my cat’s welfare and their treatments totally successful.

We were fitted in within an hour when our little dog had an emergency with an anal gland abscess. Had to take him back next day we thought for surgery. Thankfully the abscess had burst on its own so just needed antibiotics and pain relief. Robert the vet was as always kind, professional and reassuring

Very knowledgeable, friendly towards me and my rabbit. My rabbit was handled with respect and gently and the vet even spoke to him as he could tell and understood that my rabbit was nervous.
