I have always loved animals, and from a young age have felt a connection to them. Having initially thought veterinary medicine was the career for me, I found out my nurturing nature suited nursing much more! After doing work experience at Ashmore Vets before, I officially joined the team in December 2018 as their Vet Care Assistant (VCA). When I'm not working, I'm painting animal portraits for clients, or spending time with my 11 year old staffy Indie, and 3 cats (Casper, Meeko and Beau)!

One of my earliest memories as a child was wishing I was Doctor Doolittle so I could talk to the animals! I’ve always loved them and enjoyed connecting with them. In my 20’s I started working for Parkvets and stayed there for 13 years, along the way I was lucky to adopt a few furry and feathered family members that needed homes. In my spare time I love walking in nature, doing yoga and meditating. I also passed Reiki level 1 and intend to learn other levels in the future. I also love cooking (and eating!) and most weekends I am baking or trying a new recipe. My other hobby is gaming on my PC and I have lots of lovely online friends from all over the world that I chat with as we play. I even built my own gaming computer!

I would never go here again. Medivet are taking over all the independent vets and the care and service go seriously downhill. I was given flea treatment for my cats £80. When I got home and opened the bag it wasn't the usual stuff I have them. It didn't work!!! I complained and was told I could not get my money back but I could have a prescription for my usual brand of flea treatment. I went to collect the prescription and was informed that I would need to pay £58 for the prescription!!!! I declined and went to a decent, reputable vet. ( Andersons Orpington) I never have and never will go to a Medivet owned vet again and I advise others to follow suit!

Before Medivet took over Ashmore was the best Vets we had used. Our dog jessie went in for routine surgery during the change over between Ashmore and Medivet. Jessie came out from the vets after surgery confused with a massive loss of hearing. Suddenly she got very ill and her kidneys failed causing her to die. Medivet claim nothing happened during surgery but Jessie was perfectly well prior to surgery. I don't trust Medivets and would advise youn to go to a Vet owned practice.

I had an emergency with my cat yesterday. Called Ashmore vets to find out they have temporarily closed. I have since found out they have no staff. Called the nearest branch in Petts wood, and after 10 minutes of questions and being put on hold, was told they couldn’t fit me in. Bromley Medivet were also unable to help. I eventually managed to get an appointment with Anderson’s. They were fantastic and I can’t praise them enough. I’d been considering leaving Medivets anyway as I had heard some awful reviews and the prices had shot up. I don’t mind paying more for a good service, but the lack of care and wanting to help, at a stressful time is unforgivable. It’s such a shame they have managed to run down a wonderful little practice to the ground.

They have trippled there prices. What was once a nice friendly vet. Have just cost me £120 only for two yearly bosters. There was no warning that Ashmore got taken over from medivet. There still using There signage. And there was no notice period over a price increa and by so much.

ITS LONG BUT PLEASE TAKE TIME TO READ. MEDIVET FORMALLY ASHMORES WILL LET YOU DOWN WHEN YOU NEED THEM. I was with Ashmore for many years without a single issue and couldn’t fault them. Was unaware they had changed until the point I needed them in an emergency. Was completely let down and was refused to be seen when my dog became acutely critically ill with multiple seizures, on 27/4/23. Was also told that the beckenham Emergency centre would be unable to see us either as they were fully booked. Phoned another medivet (Dartford) who also refused an appointment( were to busy) , but did tell me to go back to my registered medivet ( formerly ASHMORES) as they had a duty of care to see my dog. I did. They refused an appointment again. My dog was still having seizures. Had to find another vet that saw her as an emergency and admitted her for two days to get her seizures under control. Our dog nearly died, and has since been diagnosed with a brain tumour. Medivet if you are going to answer this review with your automated response which I suspect you will don’t bother.

Please be aware that any reviews before last summer were for Ashmore vets. They were taken over by Medivet last year, since then prices have skyrocketed.

Used to be a great practice. But since it has been taken over by Medivet it has gone down hill. We can’t even have a basic check up for our cat anymore, because our appointment got canceled almost a month in advance, as there are no longer any veterinarians available!

I found it difficult to give one star. My cat had an emergency outside Ashmore opening times and I was referred to Beckenham Medicare who wanted to charge us £2,500 to catheterise our very much loved pet! To be honest I think he was too poorly by that time anyway. We took him home after the vet suggested pain relief, antibiotic and muscle relaxant. It made me feel I was choosing money over a family pet! Well done Medicare! Wouldn’t touch you with a barge pole in future.

Since dermaid and kylie have left the practice has gone down the drain. Now over priced and not a decent vet around.
