Medivet The Vets Alder 24 Hour Veterinary Hospital

We can transfer your pet to our very own 24-hour veterinary hospital in Alder, where our dedicated team will provide your companion with round-the-clock care in an emergency.

Here, we have access to state-of-the-art equipment which allows us to provide your pet with the highest standard of care. We also have 24-hour access to your pet’s clinical records – through our integrated system – so we can update you on your pet’s progress whenever you feel the need.

If we are closed and your pet requires emergency care, please call us as usual and our phone line will direct you accordingly.

I joined the Speke practice in March 2017 after previously working in a mixed practice for 2 years in North Wales. My areas of special interest is soft tissue surgery and animal behaviour.

At home I have Archer - a Japanese shiba inu and Oscar my black and white cat. In my spare time I practice mixed martial arts and walking in the countryside.

I obtained my GCSEs, A Levels and my veterinary nursing qualification from Hartpury College. I have a keen interest in medical nursing and animal care, as well as surgery and anaesthesia. At home, I have two Cockerpoos called Jasper and Oakley.

I also have a Domestic Short Hair called Jasmine. Outside of work, I love to read, train my dogs focusing on agility and obedience, and being a competitive hockey player.

I joined Medivet in August 2017 as a student veterinary nurse. Previously I have studied and gained a BA honours in English and Creative writing at Edge Hill university. Before Medivet I worked as a student nurse at Manchester practices. My area of special interests are exotics and hydrotherapy.

At home I have 4 cats, Magic, Heidi, and Pixie. I also have two rabbits Merlin and Sandie. I enjoy walking, going to the cinema, reading and writing.

Before joining Medivet Kate worked as a care assistant for the elderly and has also achieved an Animal Behaviour degree at John Moores University. At home she has a King Charles Cavalier called "Sally" and a budgie called "Sky".

When Kate is not working she enjoys catching up with family and friends, going on holiday to different places and spending time with her pets.

My name is David Roberts, I am the Merseyside area manager. Prior to this role, I spent my entire career at Medivet Orrell Park. I began my employment at Orrell Park in 1998, I started out as a student nurse, later qualifying in 2002. In 2005, I was made head nurse of the clinic, a position I was so passionate about. I was responsible for ensuring patient and client care remained paramount, whilst leading my team to achieve this goal. In 2018, I began a new career chapter as Merseyside area manager, overseeing all clinics within the region.

Outside of the working environment I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends. I am blessed to have an adorable 5 year old step son called Myles, who is a pleasure to be around. I have a cat called Gizmo who I have had from a few weeks of age after adopting him from a rescue centre.

Prior to starting this role, I worked as head nurse in Warrington and achieved a Feline Advisory bureau (now International Cat Care) certificate in feline friendly nursing. I have 2 cats, 5 hens and the occasional recuperating hedgehog. I am passionate about animal welfare and in my spare time volunteer with British Hen Welfare Trust, rescuing and re-homing ex-commercial laying hens.
