Symptom Checker

If you’re not sure whether your pet needs to see a vet, our quick and easy Symptom Checker can help. Answer a few simple questions about the signs of illness your pet is displaying and the checker will advise whether a trip to the vet is necessary and how urgently that specialist care should be given.

Lead Veterinary Surgeon

I’m originally from Australia and studied veterinary science in Sydney before moving to England as a mobile vet. I worked in several rural and town practices, as well as a busy emergency animal hospital, before joining the St John’s Wood team. I’m particularly interested in surgery, internal medicine, animal behaviour and exotics. I enjoy cycling, rugby, wildlife watching and scuba diving. I’ve also spent time in Africa to volunteer in wildlife conservation, including a stint treating orphaned rhinos.

I graduated from Middlesex University in 2017 with a Bsc (Hons) in Veterinary Nursing. I'm also a clinical coach and have a certificate in Veterinary Oral Care. I've been at St John's Wood since January 2020, previously working for Medivet on a student placement. I'm currently doing a Zoo Animal Nursing Certificate as I would like to one day work with zoo animals and work abroad. The team here also enjoy volunteering for StreetVet in our spare time. I'm Spanish and American, and moved to London when I was 18 so I could attend University here. I have a wheaten terrier called Tara and a ginger tom cat called Thomas at home, as well as a cute Syrian hamster called Biggie.

As a true animal lover, I’ve always been passionate about working in the veterinary industry. I studied Animal Management at City and Islington College and have spent lots of time volunteering with animal organisations, including the Atlantic Whale and Dolphin Foundation in Tenerife. I’ve also spent time caring for rescue dogs at a canine sanctuary. In between my studies to become a Registered Veterinary Nurse, I like to spend time with my four cats.
