Answer a few simple questions about the signs of illness your pet is displaying and the checker will advise whether a trip to the vet is necessary and how urgently that specialist care should be given.

Hilde Vermeersch

Lead Veterinary Surgeon

I held the position of Office Manager at Stanhope whilst working part time at another local surgery in the role of Veterinary Surgeon but decided to take up the vacant position here as a permanent Veterinary surgeon. After qualifying from The University of Gent in Belgium in July 1988, I initially came to the UK to gain some valuable experience, with the view of going back to Belgium. I was so impressed with the quality of care shown in England that I decided to stay. I have worked at the PDSA for 5 years where I gained a lot of surgical experience. Most recently I worked at another local Veterinary Centre for 16 years and have a keen interest in Ultrasound and dentistry. Outside of work, I like to meet up with friends for a good meal, rambling in the Kent countryside, traveling and spending time with my family and cat Simba.

I started working within animal care as a volunteer at the age of 14 and went on to work within veterinary practices whilst studying for a degree in Animal Management, in which I achieved a first class honours. I joined Stanhope in 2008. My love of Veterinary Nursing and animals led me to complete my training as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in February 2016. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, looking after my pets and visiting new places.

I joined Stanhope in March 2019 and have always wanted to work with animals, with a keen interest in emergency and critical care. Outside of work I enjoy socialising with my friends and organising trips out, and spending time with my dog Pebbles who loves a cuddle, going for walks and chasing her toys.

I studied at Hadlow College from 1999 to 2003 and have worked at other local Veterinary centres. Since completing my college course, I joined Stanhope in March 2011 and thoroughly enjoy all aspects of animal care, husbandry and welfare. Alongside my love of small animals I have a particular love of Donkeys. Outside of work I love spending time with my young family and husband Richard. When I do get a spare moment I like to relax with a visit to the cinema, reading, music and enjoying outdoor pursuits.

I began working with animals when I left school in 2013 and have worked in several practices in Kent. I hope to begin my training to become a registered veterinary nurse in the future. In my spare time, I enjoy keeping fit, spending time with my friends, looking after my dog Annie and looking after my friends cats when needed.

Patient Care Assistant (On Maternity Leave)

I have been working within the Veterinary industry since 2007 and qualified as a Patient Care Assistant in 2012, working in local Veterinary practices until joining the team at Stanhope in 2014, combining my nursing role alongside some administration work at the practice. I have a wonderful cat called Freddie, who is a big softy; he comes into the practice frequently as he has a heart condition that needs to be monitored. Outside of work I have recently taken up jogging and have a keen interest in outdoor pursuits, enjoying the countryside whatever the weather with my young son and husband Liam.
