Urgent Cat Food Recall

We wanted to share some important information regarding several cat food products that are currently being recalled. The RVC (Royal Veterinary College) are currently investigating a spike in cases of pancytopenia, which may be linked to the recalled products.

The affected products are dried foods from the following ranges: AVA, Applaws and a Sainsbury's Hypoallergenic range. You can find full details of the affected products and what you should do here.

If you are feeding your cat any of these foods, please stop immediately and check the affected batch numbers and best before dates very carefully.

If you have been feeding your cat any of these products and your cat seems unwell, please contact your vet immediately.

This is a precautionary measure whilst further investigations are being carried out. The RVC are conducting research and we'll be swiftly providing information on any suspected cases in our practices.

We’d like to reassure clients that Medivet are participating fully in the investigation and research. If you would like more information on the how the Royal Veterinary College are supporting this – you can visit their website.
