I was born in Surrey but grew up and studied in Sotuh Africa. I qualified as a vet from the University of Pretoria in 2001 and returned to England a few months later. I have a great interest in cat and dog medicine, as well as in the medicine of wild and exotic species. I gained a further qualification in small animal medicine in 2007 and my RCVS certificate of Zoological and Exotic Medicine in 2011 (CertZooMed). I'm also a trustee of the charity Worldwide Veterinary Services. I opened the Evegate clinic in 2008 with my wife Jane before joining Medivet in 2019.

I graduated as a vet from Bristol University in 2014 and went straight in small animal and exotics practice. I've been at the Evegate practice now for nearly four years. I recently earned a certificate in Exotic and Zoo Medicine in 2019 and have a special interest in Aquatic Medicine. Outside of work, my two cats (Sky and Loki) keep me busy with their mischief. In my spare time I enjoy reading, travelling and scuba diving.

I qualified as a vet nurse in 2006 and have been part of the team since the practice opened. You'll often find me changing a chicken’s dressing or tube feeding a bearded dragon around the practice, but outside of work I like horse-riding, skiing and socialising. My husband Will and I have a young son Jacob who keeps us very busy outside of work. I also have two pets of my own, my cat Miffy and my beautiful horse Hazel.

I've worked as a vet nurse for eight years and for Medivet Evegate for seven months. I have a BSc (hons) in Veterinary Nursing and a certificate in Veterinary Nursing of Exotic Species. I'm also a clinical coach and enjoy teaching students at the practice. At home I have a three-legged cat called Matilda. I enjoy travelling and photography, and do Aerial Hoop on a weekly basis.

I've been with Medivet for nearly two years, first as a mobile patient care assistant, now as a student veterinary nurse. Before joining Medivet I worked as a dog welfare officer at an assistance dog charity. Outside of work I enjoy running and doing agility with my very mischievous border collie cross cockapoo.

I've been with Medivet since the end of 2018. Within practice I enjoy working with all the exotic animals. When I’m not at work, I love spending time outside with all my animals. Currently I have two horses, a working cocker spaniel, two budgies (named ‘Tweetie’ and ‘Pie’) and some very spoilt ducks, of which I hand reared from ducklings.

I have quite a menagerie including three rescue cats, a 12-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier called Suie, a chicken called Hoodie and a husband called Matt. Outside work I enjoy reading and spending time with my family and animals. I'm also involved with a local cub group (my brother is their Arkala) and help them to achieve their animal care badge.

Health check for Bob my Kakariki parrot. Very impressed with how thorough the check was and all the advice given. From the call to make an appointment to the covid safety and the attention of the Vet, everyone was friendly, professional and reassuring. Well worth the drive to get there. Many Thanks

I saw the vet at Montgomery in Smeeth for my leopard gecko who wasn’t eating properly and struggling to shed her skin, as our normal vets won’t deal with exotics. I spoke to a vet there who gave me advice and medicine for Lukah the gecko, as I was very distraught about her condition. Well a month has passed and my animal is like a different gecko!! She’s eating shedding and much more active and so the vets have saved her life. I’m so grateful and will continue to follow their advice to keep my pet happy and healthy forever. Thanks so much

Wonderful Vet practice. Would not go anywhere else now. Their empathy with the animals (and owners) is second to none in my opinion and they are also very professional, kind and helpful.

Since I had my latest cat, 6 years ago, I have always used your practice. I usually see Clive but all the staff are kind, caring, very polite and courteous. What particularly 'sticks out' is the empathy with the animals (as well as the owner!). I have recommended at least two friends/relatives to the practice and they, too, are delighted with the service and general ambience. i would recommend anyone to use this practice if possible. We all love our pets and it is so encouraging to have a totally reliable and considerate vet practice available. They are also able to treat 'exotic' animals. Just lovely people.

From the moment I called for an emergency appointment for our 13 year old golden retriever (speaking with Lucy, and then Javier) I was shown compassion and sensitivity. Even though the practice was full with appointments they said they would fit us in to ensure our beloved Lucca was out of pain as soon as possible. On behalf of my family, I would like to thank Montgomery Veterinary Clinic, Evegate, and particularly Lucy and Javier for their kindness and patience. They certainly did treat Lucca as if it was their own. Just feel we were looked after from beginning to end amazingly well at such a difficult time. Thank you. We would not hesitate in highly recommending them.

This is a really lovely vet clinic. Unfortunately we had 2 elderly cats pass away over the last couple of months from various age related illnesses. Ive seen most of their vets over the years and they have all been kind, knowledgable and caring. Also the nurses and staff really care about the animals and their owners - and it really shows especially dealing with our cats during this difficult time. Highly recommended and am very greatfull for their help.

This was the first time we used Montgomery vets for your reptiles and can honestly say we wouldn't use another one. We spent roughly 45 minutes talking to Clive about our chameleon, history, setup, food etc. This filled us with so much confidence in his care for our chameleon. Clive also offered advice which we were never given by a reptile shop when we got him. Welcoming staff and overall a positive experience for a poorly fractured mouth chameleon.

Montgomery vets were recommended to us to treat chickens. A number of other vets in Kent dont treat them. The veterinary staff own chickens themselves so are knowledgeable, caring and compassionate. Managed to get an appointment the same day as an emergency. Clive explained the issue clearly, (my chicken had massive swelling due to an ectopic egg) he and another vet drained the significant fluid build up, provided antibiotics and pain relief and told me exactly what I had to do at home. Could not recommend them highly enough. Very glad this surgery exists! Brilliant from start to finish. Gladys is home and recovering nicely. To those who think its expensive, you aren't paying just for the consultation and medicines. The vets have decades of combined study and experience providing them with the knowledge and skills we do not have!

A little expensive but the right price for the care that's provided. Highly recommended for rabbits! Mine was well looked after for the entire time she was there - despite having to undergo a very complicated operation and months of aftercare. I was not overcharged for any medication and all medication that was recommended was essential to my rabbit's recovery and prescribed in larger bottles so I would save money. Treatments were explained thoroughly as well as the operation and aftercare. If want the best treatment for your animals then you have to be willing to pay a little extra for an expert, i won't go back to my normal vets after this! I would never trust anyone else with my pets.
