Practice Manager

Nicola joined as Practice Manager in 2018 and considers herself very lucky to be working with such a wonderful team. She has previously worked in various management roles within the hospitality and leisure industries which had many perks but none like seeing our patients every day! You may often see her with Mae her Labrador who loves spending her days in the practice as she is showered with attention from both the team and our lovely clients. She has two children who as every parent knows keep her very busy, and Hugo the cat (he's not so keen on coming into work!) In her spare time, Nic loves getting out in the lovely Derbyshire countryside trying to burn off some of the Labrador energy.

We've used Peak Vets for 20 years for a variety of pets, and when Andrew owned it, have always been happy with the service and price charged. In April 2022 we were charged £91 for them to complete our animal health certificate so that we could take our dog abroad. This year, the process was completed quickly and efficiently, but for exactly the same thing, the new owners, Medivet, charged us £191! I was shocked, and queried it but we already had the form completed so I had no choice but to pay it, but I can't see how any business can justify more than doubling their price in a year. Perhaps I should have asked for a quote first, but assumed it would be just a bit more than last year. Update January 2024: We have moved to Derwent Vets, who only charged us £95 for a animal health certificate

We have been at this practice for many years and always had good service, but firstly after been booked in for our dog to be spayed, the surgery rang and cancelled our appointment last minute and made it a day later, then at the surgery I was greeted by a rather arrogant vet who then told me they couldn’t do it as there wasn’t enough time period after her last season, although I had never been asked about this from anyone when booking the appointment, sorry to say we won’t be using them again.

My cats have been registered at this vets for years and I have always found it good until Medivet took over. I have found myself having to make an appointment at an alternative vets today to have my cat euthanized. To be unable to provide this essential end of life care for over 48 hours is unacceptable. Their response simply being “I’m sorry you feel that way !” When it should be Were sorry We’ve made you feel that way. Choose an alternative practice that demonstrates true care and compassion

Very poor service My cats have been registered at this practice for 18 years and I have always found it good until Medivet took over. They have been unable to provide help to euthanize my end of life cat for over 48 hours resulting in us reaching out to another local practice who have been amazing. No care of compassion shown from their reception staff who simply responded “I’m sorry you feel that way”…… You response should be “we are sorry we’ve made you feel that way “ Take your beloved pets to an alternative practice that demonstrates kindness flexibility and an understanding of how important the last days of your pets lives are worth 😔

Rang to book my 2 rabbits in to be speyed. Receptionist told me to fast my bunnies 2 hrs before bringing them. I said this information was incorrect and a rabbit should never be fasted (even if having a GA) Receptionist said she would check with vet. Vet came back and said only hay for 2 hrs before bringing in. I replied under no circumstances would I fast my bunnies ever as it would send them into stasis. Cats and dogs can and should be fasted before a GA but never a rabbit. Appointment cancelled and will never use this vets as clearly have no idea how dangerous this is
