I've been working at Thorpe Bay Shoebury Road for 25 years. Before that, I worked at a busy small animal hospital in Essex. I qualified in 1997 and became deputy head nurse in 2000. I enjoy all aspects of veterinary nursing. Outside of work, I have three children that keep me busy. I also have two cats, called Phineas and Ferb, and a dog called Parker.

I qualified in 1993 after studying at Berkshire College of Agriculture. During my career I’ve worked in many different practices across the country including a referral hospital specializing in oncology. After gaining an interest in nurse training, I joined the College of Animal Welfare, where my role involved quality assuring student nurse training. I’ve been in my current role since 2006, where I have the privilege to lead an excellent team of nurses, dedicated to offering the highest standard of patient care and welfare.

I’ve been at the practice for almost three years. Vet nursing has always been the career I’ve wanted to pursue. Once I qualify, I hope to travel and do lots of volunteer work with animals, ideally sloths in Costa Rica. At home I have a springer spaniel called Bessie and a shitzu I rehomed called Freddie.

I qualified in 2010 and have been with Medivet since 2006. I’ve been at the Shoebury Road practice for three years and enjoy all aspects of my job role but am particularly passionate about emergency and poisoning cases. I also enjoy training future nurses. Outside of work I have volunteered in south Africa at a wildlife rehabilitation centre, looking after injured and orphaned animals. I also own a domestic short hair cat called Marty, who was a stray brought into the Southend 24-hour hospital.

I joined Medivet back in July 2017 and really enioy working with the team at Thorpe Bay. Previous to working for Medivet I worked in aviation for 10 years but decided to come out of it to follow my dream of working with animals. I enjoy being on reception as I really enjoy the interaction with the clients and their pets. There's nothing better than having a cuddle with a puppy or kitten when they come in for the first visit. At home I have a couple of Spanish Water Dogs and a Border Collie which I love taking for long walks on the beach. I also keep Koi Carp - I've had one of my fish, Bob, for 14 years and he's now tame enough to hand feed.

I've been at the practice for 14 years and love greeting clients and their pets. In my spare time I really enjoy travelling, particularly cruising. I also love watching sport.

I've been working at the practice for almost six years now. I started on a customer service apprenticeship for one year. I've always had a passion for working with animals and have always worked in the veterinary industry. When I was younger, I worked as a student nurse for five years, before starting a family. At home I have two beautiful children, Tyler who is 20 and Katie who is 18. They both make me very proud to be a mum. I really enjoy all aspects of my job and feel very lucky to be working in a lovely practice with a wonderful team of colleagues.

I started working for the practice in 2000, this year being my 20th year of service. I started as a part time receptionist and am now the Head Receptionist. I'm very proud to be part of the team at Shoebury Road. We pride ourselves on our good service, always putting our client’s needs first. Outside of work I'm married and have a daughter who this year has graduated as a social worker. My husband and I are foster carers for the local council. At home we have three rescue cats, Garfield, Bob and Rodney. We also have a Tortoise called Fred who is 57 years young. We're very fortunate to live by the sea, so spending time at the beach hut is a favourite pastime.

I can't rate this surgery highly enough. First class service from the minute you walk through the door, The reception staff are polite pleasant and very informative on what you need. We joined the puppy plan which i would highly recommend anyone to with a new puppy. We were seen by the vet very quickly no waiting time at all, The vet was fantastic and asked several questions with regards to our french bull dog Rocco. He made us and our puppy feel at ease and even went as far as cleaning his ears and clipping his nails something that iv'e not encountered at any vets i have had to deal with in the past. My advice would be if your looking for a local vetinary service in the southend area then look no further.
