I’ve worked as a veterinary nurse for the past 19 years, qualifying in 2005 with credits. Since then I've gone on to achieve a Certificate in Emergency and Critical Care, as well as becoming a qualified assessor to aid in the training of student nurses. I have keen interests in emergency and critical care, anaesthesia and radiography and keep up to date with new techniques where I can. Outside of work I have 3 cats, Desmond, Pete and Cilla, all three of whom are rescues. I enjoy travelling and have been to some amazing places across the world with my husband. When I have spare time I enjoy baking and going to the theatre and gigs.

I’ve been at West Kingsdown for a year but I’ve always worked with animals, starting off as a kennel assistant at the age of 16. I'm very interested in the lab side of the job and hope to pursue this further once I’m qualified by going into research-based work. I have five cats (I’m a crazy cat lady at heart), a dog, and have always had a soft spot for rats. Between studying and looking after lovely patients I’m out and about in my car; if I’m not cleaning it and going to car meets, I’m modifying it.

I've been at West Kingsdown for a year and a half. Previously I worked in accountancy but gave it up for my dream of working with animals. I’m fond of all aspects of my job but am particularly interested in imaging and lab work. Once I’ve become a qualified nurse I hope qualify as an equine registered veterinary nurse. When I'm not at work or studying and spending time with my horse Aero who I’ve had for over 11 years. At home I have two dogs, Jessie and Dexter, a cat called Rolo and a rabbit called Roger. I also enjoy keeping tropical fish and koi.

I’ve always wanted to work with animals and have gained a BTEC and honours degree in Animal Management. I previously worked as a dog trainer which I thoroughly enjoyed but have always wanted to get into the veterinary industry. I aim to begin nursing training soon. My favourite part of the job is caring for the patients and giving your pets the care and love they need to make their time at the vets as stress free as possible. Outside of work I like to spend time with my family and friends whether that be going out for food or to the cinema.

i can highly recommend the staff at Medivet West Kingsdown, who run such a professional veterinary clinic. We have been using Medivet for the last 6 years for 2 of our cats and our cockerpoo puppy Teddy who visited today as an emergency with ear problems. Teddy was seen within 15 minutes of my phone call, diagnosed, sedated, grass seed removed, treated for ear infection and back home with us all within just over 2hrs. Even in these Covid-19 times the service was impeccable. Well done Nicola and all your staff.

A after a stressful night with my boy Arnie head shaking and scratching his ear to bits, a few pictures and a short phone call later (due to current coronavirus restrictions) I collected some pain relief and ear cleaner and he’s so much more content. Thank you 😊

I can thoroughly recommend Medivet in West Kingsdown. Nicola saved me thousands of pounds in unnecessary medical treatment after correctly diagnosing my cat's medical problem which had been misdiagnosed by a leading instore vets. The aftercare was also excellent. All of the staff are knowledgeable and very friendly.
